Nice Family Hotel, But not a 4*

Posted 15-Sep-2016
Pros: Location Clean rooms Near train station and bus station Town 15-20 min walk away Good Food selection Near to Bars
Cons: Clean cutlery and plates at dinner and breakfast Friendly staff Quicker check-in Less rowdy by the pool
Location: Bio-park on the train , Aquapark, Malaga city on train, Dolphin park on train, Torremolinos shops 15 min walk, Beach across the road, Taxis nearby.
Nice hotel in a great location, the rooms very clean and modern and lots of facilities on site. Good food selection for breakfast and dinner. However on arrival at the hotel we were faced with a 40 people deep queue at check in. After an hour of waiting patiently to check in we were then told our room was not ready despite it being past the 1400 check in time (not a great start for a 4* hotel) It seemed there was not enough staff at the hotel to deal with the number of guests. The room was lovely with partial sea views, it was cleaned daily by the maids and had everything we needed including a small fridge. The only negative thing i will say about the room is we backed onto a very noisy air vent from the kitchen area which ran all day and night and even with the balcony doors closed we could hear it which wasn't ideal for when we wanted to sleep. Breakfast and dinner was of a good standard, lots of choice. The dining room was always busy and could be quite rowdy at times so don't expect a romantic meal. Also waiting staff were rude and as people left their tables they prepared them with no cutlery for the next guests. Both breakfast and dinner i found dirty plates and cutlery that were supposed to be cleaned, every breakfast I had to literally hunt through the clean glass pile to find a clean glass for my Orange juice (not 4* treatment) and if you want to sit by the pool in the day, don't bother as all the beds are taken up, we found the beach was much more pleasant.

Großes Hotel direkt am Strand

Posted 14-Sep-2016

Pros: Great location. Near bus stops. Beautiful pools.
Just returned from 6 days at Sol principe. Everything was great...my daughter ( age 8) loved the beautiful pools, the beach and the evening entertainment.

Excellent for kids

Posted 07-Sep-2016
Overall - great for kids with multiple pools and right on beach front. Food On the whole, food good, but a little repetitive. Great if for us if (like us) you like fresh fish and shellfish. Lots of pork dishes - but so much variety you will always find something you like. Wonderful cakes and pastries. Avoid mash potato and the soups - clearly out of packets. We paid for HB (breakfast and dinner) but were told that drinks were extra. Not even water was included. Not happy at paying nearly 3Euro for a tiny bottle of water at dinner. Entertainment Entertainment good - a different show every night, really good quality, and something for the kids too. Brilliant magic show! Pools Get up early if you want somewhere to lie by the pool. All sunbeds 'reserved' with towels by 9am in the morning with many unused (despite towels) till after lunch. Rooms Rooms disappointing - basic - only 3 star and no carpet in corridor makes it very noisy with kids slamming doors and running up and down after the entertainment finishes at 11pm Would I go again - yes!

Hotel ok, aan het strand

Posted 12-Aug-2016
Pros: Strand dichtbij
