Find hotels in Luxo/Lujo from £33

The best areas to stay in Luxo Lujo are the Old Town (Casco Viejo) for its historic charm and central location, or Gros for its beach access and relaxed atmosphere.

The Old Town, or Casco Viejo, is the heart of Luxo Lujo. It's a maze of narrow, pedestrianised streets, home to the city's main cathedral, Santiago Cathedral, and the bustling La Ribera market. This area is packed with traditional pintxos bars and small shops, centred around Plaza Nueva. It's an excellent choice for couples who appreciate being in the midst of the city's historic and culinary scene, with many attractions just a short walk away.

Gros is located just across the Urumea River from the Old Town, easily accessible via bridges like Puente de Zurriola. This neighbourhood is defined by its wide, sandy Zurriola Beach, a popular spot for surfers. It has a more modern and relaxed feel than the Old Town, with a good selection of casual eateries, surf shops, and contemporary boutiques along streets like Avenida de la Zurriola. It's great for couples looking for a beach holiday vibe combined with easy access to city amenities.
