The room was very spacious and we liked that it had beds to comfortably sleep 5. However, the room had a vague smell of smoke or pets. It was clean but outdated and just not very nice. We did not feel very safe as the clientele and area was a bit sketchy. Definitely would call this a motel and not an inn.

The location is very close to universal Studio's (7-8 mins by a cab) and therefore we chose to stay here. Our primary goal was just a place to crash after a tiresome day walking around Universal studios, this fit the bill and I would recommend this place in terms of proximity and price. Also, the manager was kind to allow us an early checkin which we really appreciate. Would not recommend the location for walking around at night though. Overall a good experience, thank you Colony Inn.

When we drove in we saw a homeless person smoking something. The check in was okay but the rooms were in horrible condition. I didn’t feel comfortable with me and my family sleeping under the covers so we slept on top of them. The headboards were labeled left side and right side. There were marks all over the walls the toilet seat was rusted overall one of the worst experiences of my life.

My stay at this motel was nothing short of fantastic. The room was impeccably clean and cozy, making me feel right at home. I did not even stay at this property, i got there after a long day of travel to be told to park on the street where there was a small homeless tent. I was then told i can double park but to turn in my keys. As a hotel with parking, i should not have to park on the street. When i asked for a refund, since i didnt know we would struggle with parking, i was told to contact expedia. Expedia tried to request a refund which turned into a back and forth battle. They were not at maximum capacity and did not even offer a partial refund. This place wants you for your money and only that. They do not care for hospitality or customer service. I had to take a loss as a PREPAID guest who never checked in. Pay the extra money and stay elsewhere! Im sure I'll get a lame "sorry you had an unpleasant experience" comment. No, you dont care, if you did, you wouldnt treat guests trying to give you business this way.

The room that we stayed in was very smelly and the room itself was very dirty. The sheets were stained in several locations and there was a cigarette burn in the “blanket.” We had stayed at this hotel about 6 years ago and it was much different. Always been outdated but it used to be very clean. It has gone very downhill since our last stay. The check in staff was very friendly and even let us check in a little early. The condition and smell of the room was totally unacceptable and we ended up leaving and checking into a different hotel. It is expensive for a hotel with very poor quality. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. You will not be happy with the condition of the rooms. We were repeat customers that will never come back.

Beware- the pictures will give you the idea that this is a boutique hotel. It is anything but that. Everything smelled like weed / cigarette smoke. Didn’t even end up staying, we just cut our losses and booked another hotel and left immediately after checking in. The lady at the front desk was nice, but that was the only positive thing I can say.

Don’t recommend anyone with a family staying there. Extremely high sketchy foot traffic at all hours of the night. Room wasn’t clean, including sheets. Tents are set up in the parking lot across the way and homeless just walk freely through the hotel. At one point we were told the room we initially booked wasn’t available and it’s a good thing because “the guy occupying the room we were intended to stay in cooks all kinds of things with different chemicals and it wouldn’t be safe” the GM said this. Honestly feel bad for the GM but that place is straight up sketch.

It Served The Purpose
It served the purpose of having a place to sleep close to Universal Studios. Other than that, I wasn’t that impressed. Parking spaces are very small, the beds are not that comfortable, it’s a little out dated, the fixtures need some TLC because several are missing knobs and the sick handle leaked. There was a bug on the wall the first night and had it not been for no other option to move, I would have checked out. It definitely was NOT worth the price I paid.
