"No soap, no nothing. Marina and Aqualodge smelled soooo bad like sewage. We could not stay in there. Moved to a house. Beds were really lumpy. Pool was closed the entire time we were there. Deer are adorable."

"The view was wonderful with sunrises and full moons rising. Unfortunately the listing was not accurate. The listing that I read said there was heat, that The pool is heated that was not the case on either. The stairs in the pool were a a safety hazard. It wasn’t a pool but an over large bathtub. They were not bolted down and the handles turned around and around. The listing said is was for six people. It was too small for six. The living area had a couch that barely sat two people. We did have a visit from some friends who had to use their own lounge chairs.It would be good for one couple on a short basis. We were there 94 nights and 7 would have been plenty. Very disappointing and the time we stayed was was too long and very uncomfortable. We way overpaid for this property to be so miserable "

"Absolutely horrible stay. It took over an hour to get the key code. The place looks like an unfinished Boy Scout project. Everything is old and dirty and rusty . Cigarette butts on the beach. Everything is rundown and damaged. I don’t believe that there was even a credible architect building this place. I felt like I was in a horror movie. Last but not least We found out that the place is for sale…..No wonder !"

"Barnacle Resort Stayed 3 nights at the “Treehouse Private Village” in the Barnacle Resort on Big Pine Key. I really enjoyed my stay, the property is quite nice, and very private. One of the attractions on Big Pine Key is seeing Key deer, which astonishingly wandered around the resort property several times a day. Don’t touch or feed them, very illegal, but you can get quite close, as they are fairly tame.It wasn’t clear when I made my reservation just where the room was on the property, since the pictures mainly showed the larger building. As it turns out, my reservation was for the separate, smaller building next to the main house. The “Treehouse” was completely private, and has its own kitchen and full bath, which I really appreciated. There are three or four available rooms in the main building, along with the common areas for dining, etc. So be sure you have the correct room information when you book your stay.There were a couple of things I had to deal with, like the TV wasn’t plugged in, no power outlets in the kitchen for the coffee machine (ran it off the floor in the main room), but really nothing major. And the host responded quickly to any questions, plus I think there’s folks onsite for anything that might be needed.All in all, I was quite pleased with my experience there. If natural beauty, privacy, and location close to Bahia Honda State Park and Key West are at the top of your list, check this place out."

"We enjoyed our stay in the beach house! The location is perfect, the view from the deck is gorgeous and you are as close to the water as you can get! The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Can’t wait to return next year! "

"By the description of the property I was was hoping for an amazing experience. The house exterior looked like it was in need of clean up. It just looked like the construction crew left and no one did detail cleaning Our room was on the upper level. It was called the Star room. Apparently there was a methane gas leak somewhere, as our room, the entire stay smelled like an unflushed toilet. It was a lingering odor. We had fans in the room, which helped. The house has this lovely weather vane on the top of the roof, which rotated with the wind. Unfortunately, it needed greasing! It squeaked and made noise all night! I was never able to speak directly to the management. I could only leave a message, and I was never called back. So, if you do rent at this VRBO, be aware,, no management will be of any help. "

"We recently spent the month of February at Castaway on the Keys and the property is wonderful. The house is bright, spacious and well equipped. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are great. The entire house is clean and well maintained. The outside area is resort-like, with a heated pool, plenty of pool chairs, and great water front views. The upper and lower deck/patio areas are large and provide ample space for lounging, with two gas grills, ice machine and sink. We have spent a month in the Keys for the past six years, each in a different house in a different Key, and this is our favorite property - by far. The communication with the property's agent, iTrip, was timely and informative."
