I personally like the convenience and privacy of an ensuite, which is the only reason Trecastle doesn't get five stars all the way. That aside it's an excellent place to stay with lovely, friendly hosts and secure garage parking for my motorbike. I will return.

Absolutely amazing stay.. The owners and the dogs were lovely. Views were incredible. Only down dise was driving everywhere, not many local taxis.

Absolutely beautiful new hotel. Warm welcome on arival and excellent show around and room check in. The room was excellent and far exceeded my expectations. Separate living area, bedroom bathroom and private terrace. Nice to have air-conditioning during the hot weather. The pool was lovely and also over seen by the bar staff who give you a bottle of chilled water when you get there. The bbq on a friday is certainly worth doing the food and cocktail were amazing 5 out of 5 for everything.

Absolutely idyllic location, surrounded by greenery with a view down to the lake. Large room in the old part of the castle was clean and beautifully furnished with a large bathroom. The pool is situated in a peaceful part of the grounds and was very relaxed spot to stay with a book. The owners were very helpful and welcoming - we ordered chilled wine on the terrace and a lovely breakfast the next day. Highly recommend staying here.

Can't praise highly enough. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome even including me in their own evening meal on one occasion.

Cannot fault this hotel except the shower was hand held in a bath and there wasn’t a shower curtain. Would return if in the area.

A lovely hotel. Room was nice, clean and cosy with a great bathroom and shower. Big windows and comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. 2 minutes walk from the train station. On arrival we received a warm welcome from Gwendoline who was extremely helpful and a credit to the company. She recommended a nearby restaurant and bar which were also excellent. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed the lovely space including the lounge area in the main building

The checking in process was the speediest I have encountered. No fuss, no messing about, which was great as one of our party was disabled and had a traumatic flight experience so just wanted to get settled into the room. We did not ask for three rooms together but the hotel had arranged this anyway - even taking into account that one of the rooms needed to be a fully accessible room. The rooms were well equipped and spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee making in room, which was great and...

Coming from England we missed the coffee making facilities, but we appreciate that they are not common on the mainland. Other than that perfect!
