"In an attempt to beat all the tourists to Plitvice Lakes, we decided to drive up the night before and stay at the Plitvica Lodge so we would be one of the first to the park when the park opened at 7am. Hotels.com has the hotel listed at the incorrect address (Plitvice Selo 71/3 did not route correctly) so we got lost at 10pm - basically in the middle of nowhere - and thankfully had an international phone plan to call for directions, but roads are not well marked. "The mobile homes are modern but it's very small, the hot water runs out very fast, the staff depending on how lucky you get doesn't speak English at all so it's hard to get any tips about the area, but honestly, the most frustrating thing to me was that we paid about a significant price per night equal to a 4 star hotel but what is provided is closer to a 3 star hotel and we were still requested to pay 5 euros for an additional towel to take to the pool.
