"I found myself in Winston-Salem unexpectedly. I searched all evening for a pet friendly hotel because we were traveling with our dogs. This was the only place with availability. I didn't know there was a race downtown the following morning and that is why all the places were full. I was exhausted by the time I reached the Woodside and could not believe my situation when I arrived. There were 10-15 teens in the parking lot, cursing and cutting up at 9:30 pm. When I entered the front foyer the lobby was locked and a roll down metal gate was secured behind the counter. The phone on the wall said to call 500 for assistance if the lobby was closed. The first time it was busy, the next two times I called there was no answer, my fourth attempt brought someone through the door with the phone ringing on his hip. By the time he opened the lobby, rolled up the gate and handed me the key I was considering sleeping in my car. I drove around back to avoid all the ruckus in the front only to find that you could not enter the back door, only the doors at either end of the building. Even in the dark I could see the dog poop everywhere, in the grass, in the rock borders, it was disgusting. We climbed the stairs to avoid everyone gathered in the area of the elevators. Uncomfortable bed, thin and small towels, no sleep due to slamming doors and then pounding on the door next door and yelling at 4 am. I was up and out of there by 6:30 and would never stay here again! Worst experience EVER"

"This hotel has improved a lot since the last time that I stayed there which was about 2 years ago. The lady that checked me in was super friendly and I loved the online check-in feature. The breakfast was delicious, I was not expecting a lot out of it but it was very good and hot. The hotel itself smelled much cleaner, and the bed was very comfy. The only thing that I had an issue with was that the TV would turn off if I turned off the lights in my room, and I did text them about it but they replied back after I had already gone to bed and since I was only staying one day I did not care that much. I wish there was more lights on the right side of the building, if you're looking at the hotel from the front to the right. And the area where you walk your dog was not well kept, I found lots of trash and there were no dog trash bags."

"Very convenient hotel within walking distance of a few restaurants. Easy parking, everyone was super nice, breakfast was decent. Good value. Also Costco is really close if you need to get your Costco run in. "

"We had the best stay. My family loved our time together there. The home was everything it said it was and more. As a first time Vrbo user I cannot complain. "

"We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Winston-Salem while visiting for a local tournament. The room was clean, comfortable, and appeared recently renovated. While some of the finishes weren’t perfect, they were still well done overall. The hotel seemed fully booked, so it did get a bit noisy at times, as sound carried through the walls and doors. Breakfast was good and met our needs, although the buffet area was smaller than expected. The seating area, however, was spacious and comfortable. I also used the laundry facilities, which was convenient. My key card didn’t initially work for access, but Patricia at the front desk was extremely friendly and assisted right away, even propping the door open so I could easily go in and out. Patricia also greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. Overall, a pleasant stay with great service."
