♡ "Right on the Mineral Belt trail, easy walk to town" — Christopher, Mar '26
» 10min walk ➔ Main St » 15min ➔ Ski Cooper » 25min ➔ Copper Mtn
The Space:
602 West 8th is a single-family Leadville home over a main floor and a finished basement — room to spread out, a hot tub after a ski day, and a fenced yard for the dog.
➔ Main Floor — Open living room with a brick accent wall and sectional, full kitchen, dining area opening to the deck.
➔ Bedrooms — Three queen bedrooms plus a bunk room (queen + twin), sleeping up to 10. One bedroom has a desk.
➔ Bathrooms — Two full baths.
➔ Finished Basement — Second living room with sectionals and a TV.
➔ Outside — Hot tub on a large deck, fenced backyard with a fire pit, EV charger.
3 PROS:
1. Backs onto the Mineral Belt Trail — bike, run, or Nordic ski from the back door
2. Hot tub + deck + fire pit, with a fenced off-leash yard
3. Two living rooms so 10 people aren't in one space
2 CONS:
1. An older Leadville home — solid and updated, with some character
2. No A/C — Leadville rarely needs it at 10,152 ft
Guest Access:
You have the entire house — both floors, the deck, hot tub, and fenced backyard — plus free on-site parking and an EV charger.
Before arrival you'll receive an email link to our digital guidebook — it's the only place check-in details live, and it's where pet registration is handled, so please open it before you travel.
The Neighborhood:
602 West 8th sits in a quiet Leadville neighborhood that backs onto the Mineral Belt Trail — a 11.6-mile paved loop for biking, running, and Nordic skiing straight from the backyard. Main Street is a 10-minute walk.
From the door:
- Ski Cooper (15 min) and Copper Mountain (25 min) for lift days; Vail about 47 min
- Turquoise Lake (12 min) for paddling, fishing, and shoreline sunsets
- Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads (about 26 min) — Colorado's two highest peaks
- Downtown restaurants, coffee, museums, and shops a 10-minute stroll up the hill
Getting Around:
Bring a car — it's the easiest way to reach the resorts and trailheads, and you have free on-site parking plus an EV charger. The Mineral Belt Trail is at your back door for car-free days, and Main Street is a 10-minute walk. In winter the free Lake County shuttle connects to Copper Mountain.
Other Things to Note:
License #004656
Pets: welcome (up to 2 dogs) — a pet fee applies, registered through the guidebook link. Please let us know in advance and clean up after your dog in the backyard.
Stays over 15 days include a required mid-stay cleaning (fee applies).
No A/C. Elevation is 10,152 ft — hydrate on day one; altitude sickness is real and not refundable.
This is an older Leadville home in the mountains — the occasional critter is part of the deal, so keep doors closed. After heavy snow, watch for snow-removal signs on parking.
Interaction with Guests:
We're locals and a text away — typical response under an hour. Check-in is self-service by keypad; we'll confirm you're settled, then leave you to your trip. Trail conditions, a dinner rec, or hot-tub questions — just ask.

The home was spacious, with a big kitchen, huge basement, great fenced yard, and hot tub. The home could use some updates - particularly the bathrooms, but we were there for the company, the location, and to spend time outside and this property allowed us to do all of that! It’s right on the bike trail and less than a 10 minute walk to Harrison St. I would recommend!
We have stayed here 3 or 4 times now and it's always great. Everything is cleaned really well, lots of space, within 2 mins of downtown Leadville and about 10 mins to Cooper, fenced in backyard for the dogs! Overall, highly recommend!
The property was clean and perfect for me and my friends. Not too far from the ski resorts, there is a grocery store in town, and there is a cute row of shops and ski rentals in town as well! Would absolutely stay here again.
We definitely enjoyed staying here.
Nice place to stay for couple days.
Fence in backyard definitely helps pets to run around.
We didn't had any pets in this stay though!
Visited for my nephew's wedding. House looked recently remodeled (well done) and was very clean. Lots of gathering space with living room and lower level family room. Even had a packet of local coffee which was great. Quick walk to Main Street which was very convenient. Great option if we ever visit Leadville again. I would highly recommend.
This place was great for our needs. We had a 3 couples, two kids, a couple of dogs, and a naine (grandmother). The house is larger than it looks. The basement space and island both worked great for playing games. It was convenient to the town's main drag and getting to Ski Cooper was a breeze. Everything was clean and ready for us. Good place for an easy going family to lay our heads after long skiing days.
The property was super clean and had everything we needed. Beds we’re comfortable and very fresh linens. The kitchen had everything we needed. There were 10 of us and we had room for everyone. The comfortable large sectional in the basement would also provide an additional place for a couple teenagers to sleep.
This place was great from the beginning to the end. Very clean, spacious rooms all around the house, great kitchen and bathrooms as well. Dogs appreciated the fenced in backyard very much! It was a bit odd receiving all automated emails about check ins and check outs but the process was well laid out in the customer portal. The artwork was great also, very ski/winter friendly :). Only 10 mins from Ski Cooper and 3 mins to main street Leadville. Would stay again.
The house was spacious, clean, with a great kitchen, and had everything we needed. Very warm and comfortable. The Roku was nice for the kids, and we didn’t even have time to dive into the board games. The drive was cleared when it snowed, which was very nice! Communication wasn’t a problem and checking and out was easy. Had a great time. Thank you!
Place was clean, had new kitchen, great location right on the mineral belt and close to town and any issues/questions etc everyone was super helpful and responsive. Highly recommend staying here.

Everything was great. The hot water heater was off when we arrived. The breaker had flipped off for that unit. We turned it on and everything started working fine.
The home was a nice place to rest and prepare for our quest to conquer Mt. Elbert. It was convenient to both the trial head and the city of Leadville. We enjoyed our stay. We would book this home again.
This place was clean & well appointed. Very secure & easy for everyone in our group. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, nice cookware & pretty much anything you could need. An abundant supply of linens was there if needed. Furniture was in great shape & comfortable. It appeared they were preparing to replace the deck in the back - that it's good as the deck screws were not flush & it seemed to be the weak point of the home. The fence for the yard was also in good shape & felt secure for our dog. The only other item I would say was in disrepair was the storm for. The screen was torn & the door didn't latch unless you manipulated it a bit. I would stay again & recommend it for families. They had a lot of games, roku tv & it was a comfortable, clean environment to stay in.
