"Room was cozy and comfortable and mattress and duvet were soft and super inviting. I am a 70 year old solo traveler and felt very safe. Very homey. Not slick and impersonal. Owners were friendly and explained how to adjust heating etc. Absolutely would stay there again!"

Nestled along the shores of Loch Shin, this Highland village offers peaceful fishing and hiking trails through the surrounding moorlands. Visit the Ferrycroft Visitor Centre to learn about local history or time your trip for the annual Lairg Highland Games in July.
One night stay on the NC500. Guest house is right in the centre of town and close to all amenities. Kathleen, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful giving me recommendations for where the eat and where shops etc were. Room was fantastic, well decorated and comfortable with a deep clawfoot bath in the en suite. Breakfast is included and very good quality. I’d highly recommend this reasonably priced guest house to any visitors.

A guest house in Lairg is typically a larger establishment with more rooms, offering a more hotel-like experience, and may provide additional amenities including luxury bedding. A B&B is often more personal, and breakfast is typically included as part of the stay, but other services might be more limited compared to a guest house.
