About this property

Spectacular Winnipesaukee Waterfront, Amazing Lake and Mountain Views, Huge Deck

  • Originally built in 1895 as a lakefront estate, this historic home later became the main activity center for Camp Quimby, a renowned Lake Winnipesaukee girls’ summer camp. Today, it has returned to its original purpose as a warm, rustic Adirondack retreat. Offering unobstructed, million-dollar views across Lake Winnipesaukee toward Meredith Harbor and three receding mountain ranges.

Wake each morning to expansive lake and mountain views from multiple bedrooms. Enjoy breakfast in the kitchen while taking in the scenery through the 12-foot sliding glass door, or dine outside at one of several seating areas on the enormous covered wraparound deck.

Swim in the beautiful waters of Lake Winnipesaukee from one of three swimming areas on the property. Relax with a drink on the large pier while the kids play on the water trampoline. In the evening, walk to Weirs Beach—less than ten minutes away—or stay home and roast marshmallows and make s’mores around the original camp firepit.

Spend quality time together playing board games or ping-pong, enjoying water sports and family barbecues, or watching a movie in the den.

Within walking distance, Weirs Beach offers the largest public beach on Lake Winnipesaukee, along with multiple arcades, miniature-golf courses, go-karts, marinas, and the lively Weirs Beach Boardwalk. It is also home to the historic M/S Mount Washington cruise ship and one of the country’s few remaining inland mailboats, both available for memorable cruises around the lake. In the evening, enjoy the Boardwalk’s restaurants, drive-in move theater, entertainment, and nightlife.

The towns of Meredith and Gilford are each approximately a ten-minute drive away and offer additional restaurants, shopping, and attractions, including the BankNH Pavilion, New Hampshire’s renowned outdoor concert venue.

Public woodland walking trails are located directly behind the property. Gunstock Mountain Resort is approximately fifteen minutes away and offers year-round outdoor recreation. During the summer, hike or ride the chairlift to the summit for breathtaking views. More adventurous guests can experience Gunstock’s Aerial Treetop Adventure—one of New England’s largest ropes courses—as well as the mountain coaster, scenic zipline tours, mountain biking, and the Bronco Off-Roadeo.

For a memorable evening, walk to Weirs Beach for a dinner-and-dance cruise aboard the historic M/S Mount Washington, or enjoy a nostalgic movie at the drive-in theater. During the day, cruise among the islands aboard one of the world’s last operating mailboats as it delivers mail throughout Lake Winnipesaukee.

The boat slip shown in the photos is available to rent separately for $425 per week.

Wonderful porch and view.

The location of the house is great. The covered porch is wonderful. The size of the house was what our family size required. The appliances were all fairly new. Unfortunately, the house itself was filthy and musty smelling.

100 Laconia bike rally

There actually were enough beds for 10 guys. However, there are only two bathrooms. sitting on the front porch spectacular overlooking Lake Winnepesaukee. sitting down on the dock you can see all of Weirs beach. Definitely walkable to Weirs Beach so you don’t have to ride or drive.

Disappointment

We’ll start with the positives, the view, outside deck and proximity to Weirs beach as well as the appliances. From there we can’t give to many other accolades, as the home was very dirty, with furniture that is way past it’s prime. The bathrooms were disgusting and shower curtain liner was moldy. You’re also sharing a dock with numerous others as this is an association, so don’t expect privacy. A very disappointing vacation to say the least, we actually left a day early.
