For most visitors to Krebs, the best area to stay is the Old Town, known locally as Altstadt, especially around the Marktplatz.

The Altstadt is the historical heart of Krebs, characterised by its well-preserved medieval architecture and cobbled streets. The Marktplatz, or Market Square, is the central point, surrounded by historic buildings and often hosts local markets. From here, you'll find easy access to the Krebs Castle and the St. Mary's Church. It's a very walkable area with many independent shops, cafes, and traditional restaurants.

Couples looking for a romantic and convenient stay will find the Altstadt particularly appealing. Its charming streets and historic setting provide a lovely backdrop for strolls, and the concentration of quality dining options means you're never far from an enjoyable evening out. The proximity to cultural landmarks like the Krebs Castle also adds to the experience.

For travellers who appreciate a quieter setting but still want good access to the town's amenities, the area just outside the Altstadt walls, particularly along the river, offers a nice alternative. You'll often find accommodation with views of the river and the castle, providing a peaceful retreat while still being only a short walk from the main attractions.

The best time to visit Krebs is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its warmest and most agreeable for exploring the region's natural beauty.

During this period, you can expect pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling. The longer daylight hours also mean more time to enjoy the picturesque landscapes and historic towns. This is great for couples or solo travellers who want to make the most of the area's scenic trails and charming villages without the chill of cooler seasons.

Should you prefer fewer crowds and a slightly cooler climate, the shoulder seasons of May and September also offer excellent conditions.
