Chose the hotel mainly because of the proximity to the public pier. Would not recommend to a tourist/visitor to HK in transit. Eventually ok, if you have business in Kwun Tong or surrounding area and looking for a short stay/travelling on a budget.
Basically good hotel in new condition. I have seen 4 star hotels in HK at higher price level with much less standard.
There are however a few things to consider:
1) As mentioned, the hotel is a bit “off-track” located in Kwun Tong. Better be aware as it takes a bit to get to the relevant places on HK island or the more touristic areas in Kowloon. There is not so much to do around the hotel, as the area is more a business/industrial district. A shopping mall with restaurants is nearby and MTR station is in walking distance. The usual convience stores are also nearby.
2) Even though the hotel is quite new and the rooms are in a good condition, the A/C in my room was rather loud. Not like loud rattling, however the blowing noise on even smallest level was quite loud.
3) The breakfast selection is very limited. We were informed, there was an American breakfast available, however in the end only a Chinese breakfast set was for choice. I heard same from business peer staying at the hotel before. In the end, didn’t take the breakfast at all (which is annoying as it was paid with the room rate).
