  • This is a lovely beach to relax and swim at. Kantiang beach is definitely one of the cleanest beaches that we have seen in Thailand. We were fortunate enough to see why the beach was so clean. The local workers from the Pimalai Resort and Spa spent sometime from work cleaning up the beach. I wish other locals and hotels would do the same to help the pollution issues that the beaches and seas are facing here in Thailand as well as around the world. It also looked like a great team building experience. You can find this beach on the way to the Southern most point of Ko Lanta.

Good place for max chill mode

Very nice place to chill out, wish we had more days here. The location is in my opinion the best on koh lanta.

Love the View!

Charming boutique hotel with amazing views. Within walking distance to Kantiang Beach, restaurants and shops. Front desk staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Special shout out to Auf. Breakfast staff were efficient and friendly. The only downside would be that it took a long time to get a drink from the bar.

Great location, good service and a need for renova

Absolutely gorgeous location. Really fancy the size and adults only. Breakfast was great and in general service was good. The place could need a little renovation and becfreshned up. Service was great - but unfortunately recommend tour was not that great.

Hey, Expedia, I rated it a couple of days ago! The sunset was amazing and watched it from my private, cliff side patio. The staff and food were excellent, especially the quiet/shy guy (Golf?) - he made the best coffee and mixed drinks.

Second time to the houben. Its a gem! Only negative feedback is that their gym equipment needs replacing and fixing and some of rooms now need a paint job. However, still the top spot in koh lanta by some margin. The service, the breakfast, the swimming pool. All top notch

We had the most wonderful time at the Houben. Eric and his team are brilliant and made our stay very special. The team are very knowledgeable and View offered really great advice and recommendations of the Koh Lanta. Breakfast is very good and the hotel offers a happy hour every day to watch the amazing sunsets from the sun terrace. (Thanks to Yok for the lovely service and drinks) The location was perfect, the beach is a 10 minute walk and there are lots of lovely places to eat within walking distance.

Nice quiet place to relax. Comfortable rooms. Mattress topper available if you don’t like a firm bed. The staff was very kind and accommodating. Breakfast was great! Best hotel breakfast we had the entire time we traveled. The pool needed attention. It was cloudy.

Last week we were at The Houben we had one of the best experiences in a Hotel. Starting with the manager, Eric, who from the first minute was attentive to every need and plan we had. He was aware not only of the tours they book for you but also of the ones we did with other people. Each of their employees from the reception, waiters, cleaning crew, were very efficient, and above all friendly. Each one of them treats you with great respect and always with a smile. The fact that it is a hotel with few rooms surely helps them focus on giving you great service. Our room was always spotlessly clean. The food and cocktails are at the level of the best restaurants on the island. The sea view is one of the best one could hope for. Definitely a great experience that we recommend. We’ll come back!

We loved our stay here. Small and quiet boutique hotel whcih is perfect for a vwry chilled time. Property does not have access to a beach and has a lot of stairs but it is on top of a cliff with wonderful oceam views and easy 2 min walk to the small village nearby and 5 mins walk down hill to beach

Friendly, almost family like atmosphere. There was (needed) renovations going on during our stay, but that didn’t matter too much. We found breakfast a bit average and inconsistent but not for lack of trying and friendliness. Overall a pleasant stay that could have been made perfect with a little more attention to detail (soap, lighter for candles provided in the room…. Just little things)

Quiet, Beautiful, Great!

Absolutely loved this quiet spot with so much wildlife and beautiful views. The little village is so cute. Our favorite things about the Houben were how quiet it is and the amazing breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Can’t wait til next time

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed at the houben the setting is different from most hotels, it’s set on the side of a mountain overlooking the sea it’s very peaceful the breakfast is a la carte and very well presented. The staff are lovely and very helpful.

Beautiful property with incredible views. It’s very definitely a boutique property and the owner is readily available to guests, which really makes it special. The pool is incredible and the daily visits from monkeys really add to the charm (although just make sure you don’t leave your clothes on the balcony to dry overnight :-) ).

From the first moment at the resort and throughout the stay we felt an absolute quietness and peace, extraordinary service and care for us, paying attention to detail in our requests and needs. Highly recommend! My partner and I recently stayed there for 6 nights. We could have stayed much longer! The views from the rooms and deck area are amazing! Most of all, the staff provide exceptional service. They really go out of their way to ensure you are having a great stay. All staff were great including the front desk staff, house keeping and restaurant staff. Yok and Golf in the restaurant provided 5 star service! Food was delicious! Can’t wait to return.

We were very excited to stay at The Houben, especially given the star rating and the price we were paying compared with the rest of our 2 week trip in Thailand. The property was extremely disappointing that had the feeling of a rundown property. There's a laundry list of problems which were immediately noticeable at checkin: walking into the room, you notice cabinet doors are crooked and everything feels broken. We decided to use the red pool until we noticed that it had dyed our bathing suits with red marks in several areas that required scrubbing to get out. I resigned to using the bathtub seen in the photos, but was disappointed when I quickly learnt that 45 minutes later, I was unable to still unable to fill the tub with a slow tap and definitely with lukewarm water. Lots of other small things: hairdryer didn't work, safe didn't operate, internet didn't work. All in all, would not recommend staying here if you're looking to relax.

Fint hotell, men svært harde senger og puter. Beregn god tid til frokost da det ikke er buffét. Det er lite i området rundt og stranden er steinete når man skal gå ut, så her vil badesko være nyttig om man tenker å oppholde seg der. Ellers er det lite i nærområdet, så om man vil ha aktiviteter bør man booke ulike utflukter/turer.

Die Unterkunft hatte einen super tollen Blick auf das Meer. Das Zimmer ist top. Mir ist der Aufenthalt auf den Magen geschlagen als wir den defekten Roller, den wir uns beim Hotel geliehen haben zurückgebracht haben und man uns die Schuld daran geben wollte. Den Unterschied von Zeitwert und Neuwert war egal. Zum Schluss konnte sich alles klären und wir mussten nichts zusätzliches bezahlen. Aufgrund dessen hatten wir das Gefühl zum Schluss bei der Hilfe uns in ein anderes Hotel zu bringen, über den Tisch gezogen zu werden. Wir mussten mehrfach zusätzliche Gebühren zahlen. Das Hotel war top. Der Service ist nicht angemessen. Wir kommen nicht wieder und raten zu einem anderen schönen Hotel in der Gegend. Sorry
