After some long days sightseeing in Japan it was great to be able to unwind in a little piece of history and tranquility, there can be nothing more relaxing than your own home apart from a night in the Toshiharu Ryokan.

The 'staff' (monks) were excellent, from start to finish, and really added to the experience. They were attentive, warm, and friendly. The room had a typical ryokan layout and was comfortable. The stay was amazing and the staff and really reassuring and helpful in anything you need. They really want you to love the hotel and the history and architectural elements which are amazing and the history of the location and facts about the area . Utilising the areas dinning areas and sake .

What a memorable stay. We will be back.

Traditional Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are clean and spacious. Massage chairs are a nice touch—very relaxing and a quiet environment.

Absolutely amazing hotel and staff too would recommend. Top notch hotel and close to train stations.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Screen. The room was great with wonderful design. Very attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay. Lovely kaiseki dinner. The staff were super attentive and friendly. The hot spings were clean and very relaxing after a long day walking and driving. Oh and the view from the room in the morning across the valley was stunning

The staff were wonderful in general. They helped us to send our bags to Osaka as well as you can't take big bags with you to the Koyasan. Coffee was good. A bit tricky if you are vegetarian in general though at Shirahama. Your best bet is the Lawson Supermarket.
