"What an amazing find in rural Herefordshire. We just needed a bed for the night, but got a whole lot more: a wonderful welcome from the barman who was aware of my disabled friend’s requirements, and nothing was too much trouble for him; a table reserved for dinner next to the accessible door; a lovely accessible bedroom with external step free access; spotlessly clean with relevant adaptations to the bathroom including a seat in the shower; tasty pub food served efficiently and with a smile, and to cap it all 4 different local Wye Valley real ales on tap served in this traditional pub full of friendly locals. We will definitely return!"

"Lovely place staff are friendly nothing was too much trouble, spacious room, very clean good tea/coffee choice. Spacious shower and bed, large wardrobe space. Meals in the bar/ restaurant as delicious and a great choice, and breakfast was plentiful and tasty would 100% recommend staying here."

"This property has so much potential and I really hope the owners are able to make it everything it could be. Unfortunately at the moment there's a lot of room for improvement and the price didn't reflect that. The cleanliness level was not brilliant and the space was extremely cold. You are provided with a small gas heater, however it simply isn't capable of heating the space on a cold night. The bedding is summer weight, and there is no insulation, so the cold really bites. There is poor reception in the area and no WiFi - not fundamentally a problem, but it would have been helpful to know in advance so we could have found food and things to do before arriving. We also had a difficult time finding the place - again, contact in advance of our stay could have really helped with that. On a positive note, feeding the meerkats was an absolute highlight, and the fire cabin was an enjoyable place to sit in the evening. We appreciated the information booklet with some suggestions of places to explore in the area - and the area really is so beautiful and worth a visit. Overall, a beautiful setting and a property with potential to be a really special night away, but our visit left a lot to be desired and the price was very high for what was a cold and quite basic night away."
