#### Visit Den Blå Planet, dive into the waves of the Øresund, enjoy an ice cream in the marina or the view from the Flyvergrillen, sail to Saltholm or head for the capital city.

Kastrup nestles alongside the Øresund and is only a short ride on the Metro from Copenhagen. That's what makes a holiday in Kastrup the perfect starting point for big experiences in quiet surroundings. Go exploring in the charming town of Kastrup, or visit Kastrup Strandpark with its excellent bathing facilities in Søbadet Sneglen.

Enjoy a top-quality meal in one of the intimate restaurants along the idyllic Kastrup Havn. If the weather’s not too good, head for Kastrup Skøjtehal, Kastrup Svømmehal or Actioncenter Amager. The big indoor attraction is of course Den Blå Planet, the biggest aquarium in northern Europe for sea life, housed in technologically advanced pools.

Kastrup has had a somewhat mixed existence. First as a village, then an industrial centre with its port and railway, and now as a traffic hub with the opening of Copenhagen Airport Kastrup in the 1920s. Kastrup is surrounded by stunning scenery in the huge Naturpark Amager, one of the biggest continuous areas of countryside outside a major city in Europe.

Travel to Kastrup to get close to the Øresund and nature by visiting the tiny island of Saltholm. The whole island is a reservation and only a handful of people live here. On the other hand, there are several hundred cows and sheep grazing there in the summer and a teeming bird reservation. Postbåden, the old post boat, sails from Kastrup to Saltholm twice a week. If you want a city break while in Kastrup, Copenhagen and Malmø are next door. Go to Malmø via the Øresundsbroen, which has become one of Copenhagen's biggest tourist attractions due to the popular TV drama, “The Bridge”.

A unique experience awaits in Kastrup – the famous Flyvergrill. Enjoy the sight of a busy airport while digesting a delicious hot dog. There's a playground for the kids and indoor seating with live footage from the runways. Don’t miss husbådcaféen Allehånde at Havkajakvej, where you can enjoy a great cup of coffee and soak up some rays on the roof terrace or quayside in front of the houseboat.

If you come to Kastrup, you’ll get lots of urban excitement and unspoilt scenery. Kastrup offers something for everyone, with the city and the beach right outside your door.
