What a charming location right down the street from the plaza. A home away from home! Kansas City was very hot the day we arrived and the room was cool and comfortable, bed wonderfully cozy and a welcome bag was such a nice touch. We will return, and tell others of this hidden gem! Thank you!

This was a quaint and affordable stay in a great location. We were in Kansas City for a college visit. The location was close to UMKC and also shopping and restaurants. We stayed in the carriage house, top floor. It was spacious and deliciously air conditioned. Will definitely stay here again when in KC.

Excellent place to stay. Right in the heart of the Country Club area of KC. We walked to the shops and restaurants. Love that they had coffee & tea any time and some decent breakfast treats that I wasn't expecting e.g. yogurt, muffins, etc. The grounds were amazing and the room (we had a balcony) was fantastic. Super easy email check-in. Definitely recommend staying here if you need a place close to the plaza & museums. Can't wait to come back on our next road trip.

Beautiful boutique hotel, will keep this in mind for future trips to KC. While parking is a little tight there is plenty of sports. Several coffee shops near by to relax or work from and of course close to BBQ.

I stayed at Southmoreland twice many years ago and enjoyed my stay. The rooms were nicely furnished and the breakfast superb. Subsequently we often recommended visitors to the museum stay there. However, I stayed there a few days ago and can no longer recommend it. It has been taken over my some corporate entity whose only concern is to make money. It has cut all the staff, there is no breakfast, and access is only by passcode. What happens if one's phone battery has run out of juice? There is nobody to help. I think that the third floor rooms are inaccessible if one has luggage. At the age of 74 I can still haul my suitcase up one flight, but two flights up a steep and narrow staircase is too much. Also the sign on the street is not well lit at night. Altogether a disappointing experience.

This property was absolutely gorgeous and such a welcome alternative to a traditional hotel. The room was clean with inviting decor and cozy ambiance. Other than the occasional charming creaks of the wooden floors, we would have thought we were the only guests. We were given a door access code prior to arrival that allowed entry to the two main property entrances as well as our room which eliminated a formal check-in/out process. I would definitely recommend this property as a place for a memorable stay!
