This home was designed with your comfort in mind. This home is well appointed with t he following amenities: Open floor plan, spacious bedrooms, outdoor patio, off street parking, Netflix high speed internet. Sewille House was built in 1935 in one of Kansas City's centrally located neighborhoods, Hyde Park. Partners Seft and William acquired this home in 2018 and completed a modern yet classic restoration. Guest will enjoy 5 private bedrooms each with its own bathroom (5.5 total baths). 1st floor= 1 bedroom, full bath, living room, kitchen/dining rooms, half bathroom 2nd floor= 4 full bath, 4 spacious guest bedrooms. Hyde Park was a watering hole for pioneers heading west on the Santa Fe Trail. A stream and a cave with a natural spring made the area an ideal overnight spot for travelers. The neighborhood's history begins in the 1880s. Today, Hyde Park is filled with mostly residents and some businesses along its Troost Avenue border. For more restaurants and bars, visit Westport and the Country club plaza which is less than 10 minutes away. If you are a jogger/biker, Gillham Park runs along the western border of Gillham Road. For more information, see William the host. Just one block away is the Troost MAX which travels from downtown to the Crossroads district, Hospital Hill and south along Troost to Bannister. Troost MAX offers local service south of 75th Street. Other major destinations include the East Village development (currently under construction), Discovery Center, UMKC Hospital Hill and Main Campus, Rockhurst University, The Landing, Truman Medical Center, and Children’s Mercy Hospital. Park and Rides are located at 31st & Troost, 95th & Troost, and the Bannister & Hillcrest area. Trail Connections are a vital part of Troost MAX: a future trail between Troost & Bannister will connect to the Trolley Track Trail near 87th & Garfield. MAX stations are well-lit and feature a distinctive, easily identifiable information marker, and a specially designed passenger shelter. The stations are clearly marked and named, featuring easy-to-understand route maps and real-time transit information. Riders have instant and constantly updated access to the exact arrival time through GPS technology and real-time signs at MAX stations. 1\. Only registered guests listed on your reservation are allowed to stay in at this house (Absolutely No Parties). 2\. Do move the furniture unless permission is requested and granted in advance. 3\. Dumpster (trash and recycling) is available at the property south of this property. Otherwise, please leave trash inside the kitchen. 4\. Beds should be stripped and linens placed in the laundry basket at the end of your stay. 5\. Makeup towels (see black towels marked "makeup") are provided in every bathroom. There is a $30 charge for any white towel or wash cloth used to remove makeup. 6\. Curling iron should only be used in the bathroom on heat resident surfaces. If curling iron is used in any area that results in damage, you will be charged for repair or replacement of damaged item. 7\. All used dishes, pots, spoons, etc must be rinsed and placed in the dishwasher. Dishwasher detergent pods are available under the sink. Please do not use regular dish detergent in the dishwasher. 8\. All trash and unused items must be placed in the trash cans just outside the side door. 9\. All houses are non-smoking. An automatic $250 fee will be charged if you are or guest smoke inside. 10\. Please NO tape or sticky tack on the walls or trim. Both pull paint off walls and trim. An automatic $200 repaint fee will be charged if there is tape. 11\. We had 10 Senior age cousins staying together for a Celebration of Life for another cousin. We had a wonderful time in the house. We loved all the chairs and how easy it was for all of us to sit together and visit. Beds were comfy and loved having private baths for each bedroom! ##### Steven C. It was very spacious nice and clean, comfortable beds. New utensils in kitchen was a great to have available, and plenty of parking space. Bathrooms for each guest was a big plus. The house was clean had everything you needed. Showers had shampoo conditioner and body wash. That was nice. Close to everything. Some not so good The property had nice decor and remodeling. However, it could have been cleaner. I found the floors and stairs to need a bit more attention, but the towels and bedding were clean and smelled fresh. It had plenty of room, bedrooms and bathrooms for my whole family. This was great! The major downfall of the property is the location. It is not in the best neighborhood, even though it is close to the plaza and fairly close to downtown KC. This is probably reflected by the price, which I was happy with. So, overall, is was a pretty good stay. A couple of annoying things: the upstairs has motion activated lights in the hallway. They are very bright and shined into the bedrooms due to the windows above the doors. The street is not very quiet either. We heard maybe outdoor noises. ##### Kristen Kay J. To be honest, we were slightly nervous driving to the house, as the neighborhood to the north of the property appears to be a bit "rough". However, the house itself was surrounded by other (what appeared to be) rental houses. A short 3 block drive south and west took us into a much nicer neighborhood. We stayed for a bachelorette party, so we had 12 women. The house was perfect for sleeping 2-3 guests per room, each with our own bathroom. However, we only had 2 towels and 1 washcloth in most bathrooms (I would recommend bringing your own if you don't want to share). In addition, we were able to find extra comforters for the sofa beds and plenty of pillows, but there were no extra sets of sheets to be found. The house has an extra "kitchenette"/laundry room on the upper level, which was convenient. And the hosts provided us with extra coffee/creamer/sugar for the coffee makers. The backyard was nice...fenced in and fairly private, with the exception of sharing a backyard with the rental house next door. As for location, the house was a very short Uber ride to Country Club Plaza, and not a bad Uber ride to Power & Light. Being with a group of girls, we took an Uber everywhere for safety, but you could also walk to Country Club Plaza or the art museum. In addition, there is a nice coffee shop just across the street and a walking path just a couple blocks west of the house. For the price, it was perfect for our needs. We weren't in the house much other than sleeping. ##### Angela C. Proximity to the venue was great. As many reviews have stated the location isn’t the greatest. But we never felt nervous in the house. There was a loud car that went by around 2:00 am both nights. A noise machine might be helpful. Beds were very comfortable, good towels and linens. We didn’t cook so I can’t say anything about cooking supplies. But they had ample coffee mugs. We loved having 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms. And the rooms were all good sized. The fan and the light are wired together in the front room. So you can’t use the fan without the light. Owner said an electrician would be fixing that. Owner was very quick to respond to our questions. We weren’t in the house much but it was a comfortable place to sleep at night. ##### Katie P. Stayed 2 nights in Aug 2023 ### 8/10 Good #### Quinn B. 15 May 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication Disliked: Location, listing accuracy #### Great place & stay - but YOU DESERVE TO KNOW THE VRBO'S REAL LOCATION Before I say what I want to say, the house is great - perfect for a large group, clean, tidy, etc. For these reasons, the home was great for our weekend, subject to my comments below. The listing says this is "close to art museum" and "plaza." While this is somewhat true (within a half mile of both), there is some deception going on here. The house actually sits on Troost Avenue (known as one of the more dangerous roads/areas in KC) - something I believe every renter should be aware of - and frankly, I think withholding that fact from people traveling into KC with their family, likely not having an idea of the neighborhoods/roads, and all while paying good money should not be allowed under any circumstance by VRBO. With all of that being said, we had a car broken into and stolen on our first night. A police report was filed the next morning and the car was located down Troost Ave. two mornings later - totaled. Now clearly that isn't the homeowner's fault - however, it's their fault for leading us to believe we were booking a home - non-refundable may I point out - "close to art museum/plaza" and/or in "south hyde park." Therefore, beware of location. It's a great, spacious home INSIDE, which is all on par with how it is advertised. The outside, however, including primarily the location of the home, is not as advertised. I was stunned to find no similar reviews warning others of this very issue. ##### Quinn B.
