The host, Shuji, was kind enough to make himself available for when I arrived, to make sure the check in process was smooth. The room was spacious and clean. Although men only had one shower to share (there is more than one men’s only toilet), I never waited to use it, nor did I make anyone else. The host was also gracious enough to give recommendations for food and visiting spots around Kanazawa, which I tried and enjoyed greatly. He even called one of my upcoming accommodations to confirm my booking and other details since I had some questions. Location is also excellent, only a few minutes walk from the Higashi Chaya district which is absolutely beautiful, though a small distance from Kanazawa station. Staff were super friendly, spoke good English and were happy to help recommending restaurants / activities. It was located in one of the tea house areas which was really cool. It was about a 25 minute walk from Kanazawa station or a 10 minute bus ride (can take JR bus which is covered by rail pass).
