Not a detail was spared in the gorgeous historic building and lush forest grounds. The several course meals were outstanding, served in our private dining room and the staff was beyond helpful and gracious. The multiple onsens on property were beautiful and healing, you can even reserve one for an hour of private use. To get there, board a shinkansen and get off at the train station that is about 25 minutes away from the hotel and hotel staff will meet you with a private car to pick you up. It is top notch luxury, yet you are still immersed in the culture, and it doesn't feel pretentious.
