Islas Marías Biosphere Reserve

My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa Gitano!! Upon our arrival, we had an extra charge on our card that was reversed immediately by the concierge staff. She was very sweet and apologized for the accidental charge. We upgraded our room before we arrived and it was so worth it! We stayed in the oceanfront suite with private pool and the room was gorgeous! We did have to ask for our pool to be cleaned once since some of the leaves and little buds from trees kept falling in and there was no net for us to clean it ourselves, but the staff was incredible with immediately getting on this and coming to clean it! All of the staff here were so great and so helpful with everything we needed. They were all so attentive and friendly during our stay. They all celebrated our recent engagement and my birthday during our stay here. They offered us drinks and a celebratory dessert! I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this resort to others!! The pool is beautiful and the beach is stunning even with some seaweed we had in June. 100% will be coming back!!!

The food options have decreased since we went 4 years ago. There are only 3 restaurants, so you end up eating at the same one multiple nights. That would be fine if the menu had more options, but each one only has 3 or 4 options on the main selection. The room service menu is also very small and sad, and the food we tried on that was not edible. Property is beautiful and peaceful, work out room is really nice. We come here for the small resort size and quiet, and Palmai delivers on that. They maintain the property really well and deserve recognition for that. Overall we won’t come back until the menu options change or increase.

If You Are an American Traveling to Garza Blanca or Mexico, Please Read This I do not like writing negative reviews. I believe that people should address issues directly whenever possible instead of immediately turning to the internet. However, I was in a foreign country with my wife and children, so I felt it was important to remain respectful and avoid escalating situations. There are two main reasons I am writing this review. First, I witnessed what I considered to be highly unprofessional behavior between another guest and the front desk staff. A disagreement escalated into a shouting match, and during the exchange, a front desk employee made the following comment: "If I were in your country (the United States) as a Mexican and shouted like this, I would have been pinned to the ground, arrested, and then deported." Regardless of the circumstances, comments like this are inappropriate, unnecessary, and should never be made by hotel staff to a guest. Second, our stay was significantly impacted by an unresolved maintenance issue. We booked a one-bedroom suite with a washer and dryer because we intentionally packed light, planning to do laundry during our stay. Unfortunately, the washer did not work from the very first day. On Day 2, maintenance came to our room three separate times. On Day 4, the washer was replaced, but the new unit still did not work. On Day 5, they replaced it again with another washer that had the controls labeled in Spanish, but it still failed t
