Toyama Manten Hotel

Toyama Manten Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The AC/heat is not adjustable for temperature, only air volume, so some people may find it too warm. The men’s bath is much nicer than the women’s, (says my wife). I was very happy with the pools on the men’s side. I tried both the Japanese and Western breakfast set meals and found them both very tasty."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Ikuji?
The best time to go to Ikuji, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, is during the spring (April to May) or autumn (September to November) for pleasant weather and beautiful scenery.

Spring offers mild temperatures, great for exploring the Kurobe Gorge and its surroundings. The landscape comes alive with fresh greenery, and the melting snow from the Tateyama mountain range feeds the rivers, creating impressive waterfalls. This season is particularly good for those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and sightseeing without extreme heat or cold.

Autumn is another excellent choice, especially for those who appreciate stunning natural beauty. The mountains and valleys around Ikuji are ablaze with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows as the leaves change colour. The air is crisp, and the temperatures are comfortable for exploring. It's an ideal time for photography and enjoying the scenic rail journeys through the gorge.

While summer (June to August) is warm and can be good for water activities, it can also be quite humid and rainy.
