Along one of the many beaches of Hua Hin, Thailand, sits a tiny peninsula that houses Wat Khao Takiab. Like most temples, a statue of Buddha is displayed in some shape or form. Here the statue is one of a standing Buddha with the palms of both hands upright and facing outwards, called “Repelling the Oceans”. One common meaning of this posture is the belief that on a visit to India, Buddha used the power of meditation to repel a wall of water that was unleashed by a hermit in hopes to cause a flood. The hotel is small but located ideally right next to Monkey hill with a few restaurants a short walk away . Easy to use transport to get into the heart of Hua Hin but also to head towards Pak Nam Pran too . We loved the hotel and staff . The only downside is there are blocks of the apartments opposite over looking the Verso- apart from that it’s a great location

wonderful, wonderful hotel

i cannot say one bad thing about this hotel. it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. it is situated right on the beach next to monkey mountain. if you get up and be down at the beach by 6:15 am and watch the performance put on by the monkeys. it is really something to see. the hotel is situated 100 yards from the pickup taxi station. cost 20 baht to go pretty much anywhere along the main strip down to the night market. Tuk Tuk back to the hotel at the end of the day cost 200 baht and is quicker. you can tell ownership and staff really care as they are always maintaining different parts of the hotel. money is being put back into this hotel to keep it looking really nice and new. rooms are good size. housekeeping does an awesome job. 3 nice pools. someone in another post said there was no shade, there is you just have to keep moving your umbrella. breakfast buffet was pretty good with a good variety. shout out to all the staff there, always smiling and saying hi.
