Modern hotel in down town Houston

Posted 29-Aug-2015
Pros: It was modern and the rooms were large. Free breakfast was also a bonus
Cons: Parking was expensive
Location: We used the hotel as a base to travel around the Houston area including the museums, space center and Kemar Boardwalk
We were looking for a place where the family (2 adults and 2 kids) could stay in Houston that was central and good value. We found it in the Embassy Suites. Only downside was the $30 per night valet parking

Very family friendly

Posted 22-Aug-2015
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, big rooms
Cons: Nothing
Location: Minute Maid Stadium, Downtown Houston
Only drawback was the major construction right outside the hotel, hard to get to when roads are closed off and you don't know the area. But once in the hotel, it was totally worth it. Friendly staff, great entry and clean lobby. Our room was very clean and large, perfect for two adults and two kids. Couch pulled out to a bed, and having two TV's in the room kept the kids happy. Big shower rooms, and we could not hear the construction from our room. Continental breakfast was amazing, so much variety and very quick service. Overall we would definitely stay here again.

WOW

Posted 02-Aug-2015
Pros: they had a pool for my daughter
Location: downtown nice---zoo aquarium
thought the room would of been a little bit bigger for the money and two bathrooms instead of one---but we learned just because you pay more for a room doesn't mean it will be nicer---everyone was nice and very helpful----could keep up on the self laundry for the guests---when they are broke down hard to do the laundry when other people are waiting for the one washer and one dryer that is being used---other than that this place is a good place to stay ---plenty to do-

Imagine dragons concert

Just a block away from the venue, Toyota Center, awesome view, pool was very clean, no need to ask for more towels, they were already there before we came back. Loved our experience.

Weekend Visit to Houston

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: Excellent staff, our room = spacious + comfortable suite, great views = Discovery Green, George R Brown, BBVA Compass Stadium. Very eclectic decor.
Cons: When the hotel is hosting large groups - suggest having extra pool maintenance, cleaned a few times each day.
Location: Ideal property - easy walk - if attending a conference @ George R Brown Convention Center, game at Houston Rockets Basketball Facility.
Hubby & I planned a very last minute trip to Houston to attend an East Indian Chariot Festival being held at Discovery Green (Houston Public Space). I chose the Embassy Suites (Hilton) downtown property as it was very close (walking distance) to Discovery Green. This property is ideal for guests who are attending a conference, very manageable walking distance to the George R Brown Convention Center and the Houston Rockets Basketball Facility. We could see the BBVA Compass Stadium from our suite, alas, you would need to take a taxi to this destination. Input on the use of taxi's - we found the fares to be all over the place. Learn from our experience: before getting into the taxi, let the the driver know where you wish to go and immediately ask how much the fare will be? Downtown fares fall between $6.00 - $10.00. Interested in a funky, delicious and reasonably priced Mexican restaurant. Highly recommend El Real Tex-Mex located on Westheimer Road in the Montrose neighborhood. It's housed in an old cinema, bright, colorful, open floor plan. Menus - Wide variety of Margaritas choices. Traditional Tex Mex Menu - fresh ingredients, something for everyone and very large portions. OLE

Location: Location perfect for events at Toyota center.
No room service available...couldn't even order to go! Staff overwhelmed by concert crowd.
