    The Island Colony sits on the shores of the canal in Waikiki, an area of Honolulu famous for its great beaches, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. You can walk half a mile west to spend your days on the sand, hop on the bus (one block away) or rent a car (on the ground floor) to visit Ala Moana Shopping Center (two miles west) or Pearl Harbor (11 miles west).

It was me and my girlfriend and we were just hoping to find something chill that we could enjoy and be close to beach. That’s what we experienced. Bathroom was small, but wasn’t an issue. Enjoyed balcony. TV wasn’t even worth bothering with not the bowls plates or rusty coffee pot. Still place was chill and we loved it. Will definitely be back

It was a nice little apartment, with complementary treats and pool toys. The pool deck is very nice and a great place to relax. The parking fee was $40 per day instead of the noted $35, which was manageable. But an unpleasant surprise. Otherwise very nice little apartment.

Great location and building, really comfortable for us. Unit is starting to show it's age unfortunately but, hey, aren't we all. Some small repairs would be great. Most annoying was the kitchen sink faucet that does not like to shut off, the damaged stove knobs, and the air conditioner that makes a horrendous racket and doesn't cycle properly. Well, that ceiling fan works fine and minor issues certainly did not ruin our stay, which was pleasant indeed.

We loved our stay here!! The building is definitely getting a little dingy but the room was updated nicely enough and the pool area was very nice! Our check-in was super easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The A/C worked well enough, although the room always felt a little on the humid side but we also enjoyed having the door open to let in the fresh air. The view is truly incredible and we loved watching the sun rise and set from the balcony! The kitchen is small but big enough to cook a few meals and well-stocked with dishes (but only salt and pepper - no other spices or oils). The bed was super comfy and we slept very well every night! Very conveniently located for everything downtown. We rented a car for a few days so we used the parking which was expensive but convenient. We only tried to find parking on the street once and were very unsuccessful.

Check-in was easy. Nice spot for two. Location and view are ideal. Loved having a larger fridge to stash groceries from Foodland or Safeway. A/C is fine but in May, the trade winds blowing through louvered glass windows plus the ceiling fan made for cool, restful nights. Did I say the view was awesome?! Hot tub was great! Everything is walkable, and hip travelers get a prepaid HOLO Oahu bus pass to help roam all of greater Honolulu. Just a 3 ride to and from the airport on bus #20!! Goes to Pearl Harbor as well. TRAVEL LIKE A LOCAL. We'll stay again.

I loved the views from balcony. The parking situation is crazy they charge you per night or a fast pass for 5 days. The customer service for the parking is terrible. The swiming pool was only open several days since it was being repaired. I was not left enough towels for the 7 days that I stayed. The sofa sleeper was small and was difficult to sleep 2 adults in it. There were so many remotes that it was difficult figuring out which one to use. The location was great since it was walking distance to alot of shop and beach.

Great Location

This is a great location! Just minutes walk to the beach and all the nightlife and restaurants in Waikiki, overlooks the canal, next door to a golf course, etc. The building even has everything you need…great restaurant that offers coffee to include lattes (although doesn’t open until 7am), mini mart that sells alcohol, pool, exercise room. It’s also 1 block from a Starbucks that opens a little earlier than the hotel restaurant. The only negative to this place is how small the bathroom is. It’s fine for 1 person but even 1 person can’t use the shower without closing the door. But the unit has lots of mirrors so others can get ready outside the bathroom. The bed was a little too soft for my liking, I think it’s due for a new box spring. Other than that it’s great! Loved sitting on the large balcony every day.

Very disappointed

This is a substandard unit badly in need of reconditioning. The lanai tables look original (1970s?) and are badly weathered. The webbing on the chairs is coming apart. It all needs to be replaced. The vinyl plank(?) flooring in the unit is so scratched up it looks like it was repurposed from a loading dock. The mat in the bathroom also hails from the 20th century, is worn out and ripped and I suspect impossible to clean. The kitchen light is burned out. At least three of the mismatched dishes were cracked. Our biggest complaint is that the VRBO listing showed a pool. We used it once before they closed it down for a couple weeks for regularly scheduled annual maintenance. We were definitely misled and extremely disappointed. We checked out five days early, paid for another place and we’re glad we did. The unit has a good bed, nice views from the lanai and is centrally located. The same can be said for thousands of other places so choose from among those before renting this one.

Location to beach, stores, markets was fantastic! Looking to book the same place for spring break. Condo was very clean, plenty of linens and the kitchen had everything we need. AMAZING!!!

The view is the most beautiful view I have ever seen. You will actually spend extra time and order in a couple times just to enjoy it more. Everything you need is here, AC, hairdryer, stove, fridge...everything you could ever want! Walk to the beach in a couple minutes through the best part of Waikiki. Close to the freeway if you want to adventure, close to all the shops and restaurants you could ever want. Literally perfect in every way for two people.
