"Stork's Nest" Vacation Home on the Elbe

  • Welcome to the Elbe Valley Floodplains Biosphere Reserve and to our little holiday home, “Storchennest.”


    We’re located in the northeasternmost corner of Lower Saxony, where Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Saxony-Anhalt meet. Here, the small Höhbeck ridge (approx. 70 m above sea level) lies directly on the Elbe River.

    Vietze is a small and quiet fishing village.

    Our holiday home—a semi-detached house of about 65 square metres, furnished for 2 people, located about 250 metres from the Elbe River—features a 400-square-meter garden. It has two small terraces, one facing the morning sun and one facing the sunset. The sunset here on the Elbe is a wonderful experience. Hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, canoeing, taking a covered wagon ride through the Nemitz Heath, following the Green Belt along the former inner-German border…

    There are many possibilities.
