Only issue was we paid for horseback riding and they changed the time to later in the day and we could not do it so we wanted to cancel it and get a refund which they said they could do. "Great resort for the price. I really liked the buffet. The steakhouse was ok but had a terrible vegan option. The Italian restaurant was small and bland portions. We were able to get reservations easily but had to download WhatsApp. There were plenty of things to do. The pools were great and rooms clean. Staff were hit or miss. Some were friendly and others were not inviting. "

"We don't feel this Riu should be a "Palace". It's not up to Palace standards that we've been to in Mexico. Staff barely speaks any English. Take a look at the pools in the evenings. They are filthy and weren't cleaned during our five day stay. There was mold on the walls of our family suite. We have no reason to return to this resort!"

"We were on the 3rd floor and our AC was set to the lowest temp of 15 degrees Celcius, however it was very hot in our room and it felt like 75 degrees. Our toilet wouldn’t flush for the first 48 hours, but thankfully the staff was able to fix it. On our last night the resort experienced a power outage around 5 am cutting out the air conditioning. Other than these few hiccups we had an amazing stay! The beach was by far the best amenity. The buffet wasn’t great but the restaurants were fantastic (just make sure to make a reservation). Staff was very friendly and we made friends with many staff members! The resort grounds was gorgeous and very well maintained. We had a wonderful stay and would visit again!"

"The resort and rooms were cockroach infested. They upgraded us to a family suite and it was just worst, we entered our room after the late night magic show to roaches running from the light. They were on the floors and walls. The rooms were filled of mold, even the pillow had mold. The bathroom fixtures are over caulked with mold and hair in the tub and sink. The pullout coach had debris on it. We left the hotel after the first night and would have left sooner if we felt secure leaving at 2am after staff was not helpful. The hotel staff was lagged in their response and had nothing to clean except a broom ( to pick up the roaches we killed). We were also on the first floor and it rained so we also had centipedes. The rooms smelled like a wet mop, and had peeling paint. Highly recommend reconsidering staying here. We moved to another hotel. They didn't refund anything after showing proof of the events and was fully aware having me at their desk til 1 am, they were not helpful. "
