"This is a small apartment. Fully set up for a stay, including cooking, washer dryer, small refrigerator. All direction for use is in Japanese. Easy walk to Kokubunji train station. Lots of good shopping. Small convenience st I re close by. Unless you are comfortable with dealing with ll anguage issues in the apartment, I would suggest a "regular" hotel."

"Staying at this property was truly an incredible experience. My wife and I (American tourists visiting Japan for the first time) stayed here for 3 nights. The staff was so friendly, especially the wonderful staff in the 6th floor restaurant. Our room, a 12-tatami was spacious and comfortable with a great view of the lake and mountains. "I booked a smoking room and I got a smoking room. The air cleaner in the room works great and the room is bigger than normal JR hotels. Everything is nice about the hotel. I have been staying in JR East hotel Mets for sometime now and I am beginning to get hooked to it. If I were to nitpick, I do need to carry my luggage up a few steps twice to get to the lobby of the hotel. Not a deal breaker but for smaller ladies who are not so strong, do take note. "

"The residence was in a quiet and serene neighborhood of Kokubunji, just a short 15 minute walk to urban areas full of food, activities and train stations. A solid, budget-friendly option in the Tokyo suburbs

"We had a great stay at Hayshida’s independent house! He was very prompt and helpful in all communications, from our initial inquiry through to check-in and check-out.The location is convenient—Kokubunji Station is only 15 minutes from Shinjuku, making it a good base for exploring Tokyo and beyond. Just keep in mind that it’s about a 15–20 minute walk from the house to the station, as the host accurately noted.The house is clean and functional, with a washer/dryer which came in very handy. As other guests have mentioned, the staircase to the second floor is quite steep, and the bathroom being on the first floor may not be ideal for everyone.A couple of small suggestions—adding a comfortable couch in the living room and providing a few more dishes and utensils would make the stay even better.Overall, a solid, budget-friendly option in the Tokyo suburbs. We’d definitely recommend it!"

"This is not a normal hotel. It is a small apartment with cooking hot plate, microwave, washing machine/dryer. Typical Japanesebth and shower, in room airconditioner. About a 10 minute walk to Kokubunji Train Station. All directions in room are in Japanese. So you will need a translation app. Also office staff has very limited English and they use a translation app too. You will get a feel for living in Japan with a small grocery store about a 3 minute walk. Enjoy."
