"The rooms are being renovated and mine was clean and like new. I think more room improvements are coming as I'd describe it as 'spartan'. I only needed a nice clean bed and great shower after a day of hiking and biking and this was just fine. "

Not to mention the warm and welcoming owner, the spectacular view of Whiteface mountain (so close that I felt that I could reach out and touch it), the majestic music on arrival, and the oodles of personality in every inch of it.......the likes of which is so missing in the cookie-cutter lodgings that we are so accustomed to! "I was there to visit a relative in the Saranac Lake hospital. The hotel was an easy commute to the hospital. The room was great. It was nice to walk along the lake and in the town before visiting hours. I didn’t find many places to eat in town, which was a down-side. But the restaurant attached to the hotel was good and convenient."
"The bathroom was new, clean with no mold.
The fridge was working properly, it was not freezing the food like the previous hotel I stayed.
Also, I liked the lobby decoration.
The only thing I didn't like was the fridge being inside the bathroom, but it was not a big deal."
