This hotel is in a great location for walking around Halifax. Our room was very spacious and housekeeping was great. Hot tub is very small and the showers were closed when we went in the evening.
From the time we pulled up in front of the hotel we received excellent service. The ease of valet parking and check-in, the large room and cleanliness, and the fantastic location of this property in relation to the harbour was all amazing. All of the staff that we came in contact with was friendly and courteous and helped with anything we needed. Would definitely recommend this location if you are looking for a great place to stay in downtown Halifax.
Nice big room, very comfortable beds, excellent food. Welcoming and helpful staff. Walkable to many amenities and sites. The valet parking guy watched us struggle in a downpour of rain to get our luggage on to a cart and didn't offer assistance.
Good location. Great access to other places in town. Their warm welcome cookies were delicious. Washrooms could be a bit cleaner.

The Hollis is well located in the desirable downtown area. It is great for walking and close to shopping, restaurants and the Public Gardens. The rooms are suites so very spacious. However, the rates are pricey considering that the hotel is dated and in need of a major refresher. We also, had to park our car at the front on a very busy street, bring in our own luggage and wait for someone to eventually park our car for a fee of $35/day.
Although we enjoyed our stay, we could see that the place is due for refurbishment and the restaurant needs an overhaul, breakfast was uninspiring. Desk staff were excellent, especially Stephen.

Location was perfect for our family. The suite provided us space to hang out.
The cookies were super yummy!
Wicked comfortable bed and pillows. The staff were very friendly and informative. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was delicious. The location is fantastic right near the pier and local activities.
Great location and a warm welcome on arrival. We were in a suite on the top floor and it was wonderful! Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was near everything. Would stay again next time we’re in Halifax.
We had a great room - spacious and clean. We also loved the location. We walked everywhere. We stayed one night only, so didn't use the amenities. We had cocktails at the bar and picked up coffee in the lobby the day that we left. Hot tub didn't look the cleanest and it looked like it needed more water, but we didn't get around to talking to the staff about it. We'll stay again.
Abbie at the front desk was fantastic from our arrival to our check out! Very friendly and accommodating! Our room was perfect, very comfortable bed, nice shower and had the amenities we needed for our 2 night stay. Although parking is off site, it wasn’t as painful as we thought it would be. Walkable to the beautiful harbour front and dozens and dozens of restaurants! That being said - our room service both morning from the hotel restaurant (The Eatery) was fantastic!
Really nice staff, room was comfortable and a good size, didn’t love the pool and hot tub, overall it was good and I’d stay there again.

Our hotel room the light fixture above the dining area only had two small
Lights working out of approx 20. When we tried to switch on the bedroom light it did not work only the bedside lights above the bed frame. Stain on the pull out couch cushion unsure of what caused it. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful! The restaurant was no open and closed due to a private function unable to eat there with the kids.
