If you're looking for a pleasant stay in Guernsey without having to take out a second mortgage, then you won't go far wrong with La Collinette. I found the staff helpful and attentive. The hotel generally was clean, light and welcoming. There is no lift, so be prepared to have to hoik your suitcase up a few flights of stairs! My room was fine; large windows made it lovely and sunny and with a view of the outdoor pool area. Facility-wise it had everything I needed including basic complimentary toiletries and even a bathrobe! The mattress was sadly tired and lumpy but if this could be upgraded then I would not hesitate to stay in the same room again. The location was fine for me - I could walk to the Grammar School in 25 mins and turning in the opposite direction I was able to walk into 'town' (St. Peter Port) in about 10-15 mins. The food in the restaurant was very good, but the cooked breakfast in the morning not so good. Maybe I'm just fussy! Overall I was happy with my stay and would recommend it if you are on a budget.

A really superb classy quirky hotel with character and individuality. The room safes have a light on the inside. The bathrooms have a low level blue light thats really useful at night. The restaurant has 1st class fresh local produce meals that will delight. The breakfast sausages are great and the juice selection is extensive. The bedroom room curtains are really thick and keep out all the light. The bedroom room walls are sound proofed.

A great hotel across the road from the beach and the bus stop around the island. A quiet and unspoilt area. Lots of nice food to choose from in both the hotel restaurant and the restaurant next door. I would definitely go back.

The hotel was situated very conveniently near the bus station for airport and walks. The staff were very hard working willing and helpful. In my room the pillows were not great, I had no bedside light and their was no spare blanket.

Hotel is ok if you upgrade to a room with a sea view and balcony. Unfortunately we didn't realise that this cost extra so our room was quite dark and dingy. Lovely outside eating area in nice weather, excellent food! Parking is an issue, when we checked in the receptionist directed us to a car park a long way away. We later discovered that we could park closer, apparently in the owner's garden! Overall a nice place to stay if you want a standard non luxury hotel.

I now stay at this hotel regularly; having tried many others, this is the best, and at a reasonable price.

The hotel is in a quiet site near to the sea and good beach. Easy access to all attractions. The restaurant is excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient. Facilities are good, the pool and garden areas in particular enhance the hotel. Room service was good throughout our stay. Bar prices are reasonable. No real down points. We would stay here again should we return to Gernsey in future.

A great hotel - clean, comfortable and spacious room and really good food in the restaurant. A short walk from the harbour and the centre of town.

Pleasant hotel near cliff walk. Hotel does not have sea views. Staff were friendly. The swimming pool was heated, clean and a reasonable size and mainly empty so we enjoyed that. The breakfast was good, buffet style.

Nice hotel, good location, good food, good value for money. Really good breakfast, loads to choose from! On a wet and windy evening the restaurant at the hotel was a blessing, the portions are a good size and everything we had was really good! There is also a bar and lounge area which was nice and relaxed for a swift half! The room was a little dated in design but everything was clean and tidy. We used the hotel pool which was a little chilly in early March but once we got swimming it was fine. Easy to park-loads of space directly outside the hotel. We paid around £50 a night for 2 of us, really good value for money for bed and breakfast.
