Beautiful Hotel close to everything!
We stayed at La Casona for 4 nights with our toddler boy, it is such a beautiful historic hotel. We know Guanajuato has many historic hotels but we were concerned that they were old with old furniture and kind of dirty places NOT the case in here!. Our room had a big king size bed, large bathroom with hot water (it looks like not having hot water is common in the city) and it was very comfortable, it didn't have an iron which I thought it was weird but I called the front desk and they sent me one so not a big deal. Our rate included breakfast and it was very good. The hotel is located within a short walk to many historic sites we walked to the Alhondiga, Museo de Diego Rivera, Teatro Juarez, Callejon del Beso, Mercado Hidalgo, to our favorite restaurant Casa Valadez etc. so the location was just perfect. The person at the front desk helped us to arrange a tour by the city and he put us in contact with a cab driver that took us to San Miguel de Allende by ourselves (not in a tour) traveling with a toddler we wanted to go to San Miguel just the 3 of us. Overall it was such a great experience for our first time visiting Guanajuato!
