"Had all our needs and would book again no problem"

"Soon as we walked in it smelt like an old peoples home, fusty and old - in need of a good clean. Walls are paper thin, only one pillow each. Bathroom was awful, dirty toilet. Check in was easy enough and we didnt really use the amenities. The only reason we didnt leave and go somewhere else is because it was dirt cheap and we were only staying as it was close to the airport for a early flight. So really you get what you pay for but wouldnt recommend or go back"

"Stayed here many times. Room clean, and tidy. All the staff I had conversations with were friendly and helpful. If I was being picky the only slight negative is the narrow car parking spaces."

"I only write this review as there was no one on reception when I left at 7am. The shower head in room 26 needs replacing, or possibly fixing. It is an odd design which I’ve not seen before but water gushes out from all angles, making it difficult to have a shower whilst the bathroom ends up a watery mess. I only booked an accessible room as it was the cheapest option but anyone with a disability would struggle with this. Urgent fix required for the next occupant. Otherwise the usual comfortable stay and friendly staff, just lacking Nevada."

"When we got to the room the heating was on full and with the hotel being wooden it was like walking into a sauna. The bed was a very springy and you needed to hold tight if your wife was turning over. All in all we wasn’t able to sleep so left at 23:00 to go home. "

"We have stayed at the Skipton hotel on a number of occasions and always felt that it was good value for money. There has been some improvements to the property in particular the restaurant. Unfortunately there has been a deterioration in the breakfast!! The coffee served from a heated urn was not hot and when I remarked on this the waitress lifted the lid and remarked well there was steam! The breakfast area was rather cramped which made serving yourself difficult and again the hot breakfast was not hot. Even the eggs fresh from the kitchen were only luke warm. We were very disappointed with our experience and since on this occasion we had to pay extra for breakfast, I don’t think we will be venturing to the Skipton hotel again. "

"I stay in hotels around six times a month, and I can honestly say this was one of the poorest experiences I’ve had in a long time. In the restaurant, every steak dish on the menu was unavailable, and the only real alternative offered was a burger. When the food arrived, I asked for condiments — they never appeared. The place was quiet, yet no one made eye contact or checked in, despite me being seated right beside the bar. I eventually ordered dessert, waited 15 minutes, and had to chase it up. Seconds after I asked, it suddenly appeared, clearly forgotten about. To top it off, a service charge was added automatically, which felt completely undeserved. The room wasn’t much better. I was woken just after 6am by the shower in the next room — unbelievably loud, far beyond anything I’ve ever heard in a hotel. At checkout, I was told I had an £18 parking charge. When I questioned it, I was told it had “nothing to do with them” because it was a third‑party company, despite the hotel collecting the payment. Not exactly taking ownership of the guest experience. Overall, the hotel trades on its name, not its standards. Very poor"
