"We loved our stay at Orton Hall. It was a beautiful large suite and we enjoyed being tucked away from all the business of other areas of the Lake District. The check in was super easy and the kitchen is stocked with all the tools you’d need to make your own meals. The shower was fantastic. Great temperature. We would love to stay again."

"Having stayed in a number of big houses with large groups we have a lot to compare this property to and the consensus was that this is the best we have visited. Description of the property probably doesn't do it justice. Facilities are excellent. Kitchen very well equipped and the space was great for a foodie family to share a feast there. Everywhere was really clean. Owners were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend."

"The staff was so helpful and so funny! The room was well small-ish but perfectly comfortable and the window opened for a nice breeze in the evening. The meals were very nice and the location/surroundings are beautiful!"

"The photos do not do this space justice - it is perfect for hosting large groups / families and being able to unwind in a relaxing environment.The hot tub was great, and the log burner was also a brilliant touch.We did notice some pet hair (not ours) which allergy sufferers had issue with, however we were able to clean with the tools provided.Great access to local walks."

"The apartment itself was immaculately clean, well-furnished and spacious. The kitchen is much better equipped than most rentals, with many appliances, kitchenware, staples and even knives that are actually sharp!Location-wise, it’s very convenient—just off the M6, but in a small village and under 40 minutes from the main Lake District towns.The host was proactive and responsive in communications.Because it is a historic building, the central heating is a bit limited. We visited in early April with temperatures in the low single figures and found we had to use the provided supplementary heaters. It can be a bit chilly initially, particularly if you're returning/arriving late, so it just requires a little extra management.Overall: A lovely, well-equipped base for a large family. We would definitely stay again!"
