"Lovely place too spent the weekend"

"The hotel was in a great spot on the strand. Handy to restaurants and pubs. Great views of the beach and Maggie island. The staff were friendly. The rooms need some maintenance paint new bathroom and furniture. Price was good."

"Very conveniently located within the city with access to all amenities. The room was all clean with nice comfortable bedding. However, the toilet flush system was malfunctioning and hand bath sink was blocked or clogged up when in use at the time which was reported to the receptionist."

"We were in Townsville for 3 nights to attend a rugby league game at Queensland Country Bank Stadium. We had flown to Townsville and so intended to walk or catch local buses for any sightseeing. This proved a great choice as we could walk to Sealink Ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Magnetic Island and walk to the Stadium. We were across the road from the North Queensland Museum and a short walk over the bridge to the Maritime museum. The information centre is about a 10 min walk along Flinders street and the volunteers were very obliging with bus route maps and suggestions for things to do in the area. Rambutan rooftop bar has great options for dining at night at reasonable prices. Through the week the area seems very quiet as there are a lot of unoccupied buildings from the 1920's - 1940's, Friday and Saturday nights are very busy as some of these buildings now house nightclubs etc. There was a bit of noise on the Friday we stayed but it did not worry us. The main shopping centre is about 25min away by bus. The staff at Rambutan were very obliging and I would definitely stay here if I was in Townsville to attend an event at the Stadium."

"Our room was clean, spacious and provided with everything needed for our stay. We slept great in the comfortable beds. It was very quiet and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. The staff checking us in and out were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we didn't realise it was a non-smoking property so my husband was inconvenienced, but something we should have checked before booking. I would stay again but my husband wouldn't due to it being non-smoking. "
