Hillside Cabin in Gatlinburg
Overall this cabin was accurately described but the photos do make it seem roomier. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids and we had plenty of indoor room, but no real outdoor space other than the small deck with 4 chairs. I would not recommend this cabin for the amount of people it can actually sleep.
The home is old as described and the creaky floors could get a bit loud, but it’s expected in an old house. The decor gave it a nice old cabin feel and the house stayed cool with all the trees and shade around it. It had a nice nighttime view of Gatlinburg but not much to see in the way of mountain scenery.
Several spots in the home were not clean and this was reported so it could be corrected in the future. The hot tub was nice and clean. One bear roamed daily right in front and around the house. That was fun to watch. You do have to be aware because he was there when you least expect it.
It was close to everything and although you can see and hear Gatlinburg, it’s too far to walk and the hill is too steep.
We were very, very close to the park, Pigeon Forge and the grocery store. The kitchen was pretty well stocked and we did not need for anything (coffee pot was broken), but we had our own.
This was a good overall stay. We traded the mountain views and privacy for location. The house is in a cul-de-sac with two other houses. I think next time we would choose the privacy and drive a little further to get to places.
