I booked a twin room for 3 nights ( 4 days) for my travelling companion and me. We chose Montmatre as our base as it is close to public transport.
We arrived at 9.00 am from a Seine river cruise and were allowed to leave our luggage in the secure room until the afternoon- a blessing. Also left luggage on departure day - late flight.
The hotel has an odd layout - at least 2 buildings. We stayed in a room a few floors above the breakfast room which is a few shops along from reception. The entrance to this section of the hotel accommodation was through this room. The room was small, clean and tidy, beds quite comfortable, bedding - clean and comfortable. The bathroom clean but tired.
Breakfast - substantial continental style.
We booked a transfer to CDG airport through reception.
Day 1 - metro to Arch de Triomphe, and back from Musee d'Orsay, days 2 and 4 train to Versailles (Versailles is closed on Mondays), day 3 metro to Montmartre. Had been in Paris before and were filling in some gaps.
Internet in the lounge was not working.
OK, so yes, we saw the reviews so far of this hotel, but decided to experience it for ourselves. We booked a Comfort Double Room.
First, was the price. So £104.00 Sterling (€148.00) per night was the attraction. This is Paris after all, not known for being the cheapest city in the world. Room only, we understood and did not expect our usual standard of accommodation (Hilton/Sheraton etc). Let's cut to the chase, we arrived after a hair raising ride in a privately booked car from CDG in Paris rush hour (man those French know how to drive) and were very, very pleasantly surprised. The reviews indicated small & noisy. They were bang on with that assessment of the rooms! Can't deny that but what we didn't expect was how clean, smart and totally professional this hotel was presented to us when we arrived.
Our initial view was of a very art deco, black and white format, clean lined utilitarian lobby, with a breakfast room to one side and a small lounge to the other. We were greeted by an extremely affable receptionist, a smart and pleasant man who expressed the desire to ensure our stay was comfortable and pleasurable. We were quickly checked in and given two card keys for our room. At first when we saw where our room was, we felt slightly dismayed being right next to the lift shaft. But fear not, the lift was modern, and of a type that emitted no noise into our room. The room itself was as expected, small, with a tiny private bathroom. There was a wardrobe of adequate size for o

The hotel room itself was very basic and too hot, particularly at night and in the evenings. However, there were big balcony doors that could be opened, so this helped a little with the heat. The hotel staff were really polite and helpful, this is an ideal hotel if you're looking for a cheap city break especially because of its location, which makes it ideal to visit the main tourist attractions if you're using the metro. With a metro station being so close to the hotel it was often quite noisy at night, but nothing too disturbing. There were plenty of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area of the hotel, so there was always plenty of choice when it came to deciding where to eat.

Overall, a very good hotel: clean bed, bathroom, mini-bar. A safe hotel option. Location is amazing. City center, walking distance to Eiffel Tower (25-30 min walk).
My Wifi didn't work well at all. The elevator stops only between the floors, so you have to carry your suitcase upstairs one flight of stairs. Room is small. Carpet is old. The hair dryer didn't work.
The hotel didn't have a downstairs lounge, so it felt like you were in an apartment.

We stayed here just for one night, we arrived early in the morning and we knew we couldn't check in yet but we wanted to leave our bags, which was no problem at all. The staff were so friendly, it was my 4th stay in Paris and by far the most friendly hotel staff I've ever had there. We didn't properly check in again until 11 pm so we really just went up to the room, got changed for bed and fell asleep! The room was very decent, it was clean and comfortable! It wasn't luxury and it wasn't perfect but that's not what we paid for, we only wanted somewhere nice to rest our heads for one night. The walls are thin but luckily our neighbours weren't too noisy during the night, in the morning you could mostly hear them in the bathroom! One of our windows had a crack in it and Sellotape was holding it back together but actually it wasn't a problem because we slept with the windows wide open anyway because it was such a hot weekend! I would imagine they plan to replace this soon. I really would recommend this hotel as it's in a very good location with lovely staff and a very comfortable nights sleep that doesn't break the bank!
