"perfetta! My daughter and I stayed here and we absolutely loved it! The room was very cute, the shower was great, and everything was so clean! I found the location to be perfect, not in the middle of the piazza (which is very lovely and fun at night) but very close. We walked everywhere. We were there during the heat wave and were so happy to come back to the room and enjoy the air conditioning and shower. Highly recommend!"

"Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita was one of the most memorable stays of our entire Italy trip. Staying in a beautifully restored historic cave in the heart of Matera was such a unique and magical experience. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and full of character, while still being very comfortable. The staff were absolutely wonderful—warm, friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. Breakfast was also fantastic, with fresh local food and excellent service. The location in the Sassi is incredible, and simply stepping outside the hotel feels like stepping back in time. More than just a hotel, Sextantio really feels like part of the Matera experience. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend it!"

"This is an amazing choice to stay in historic Sasso! The location is spectacular! The views are stunning! There is beauty at every angle. You will wear out your camera. No wonder it's been used as a film location for multitudes of movies. Call ahead and arrange for parking because the hotel is in a no parking/driving location. You will understand when you arrive. The spectacular hotel staff will provide a shuttle service for you and your luggage. The amazing and friendly staff will assist you with anything you need. I can't say enough of how helpful and incredible the staff is! Definitely stay 2 days or more if you want to hike at the caves. The breakfast is also spectacular! There is amazing food in town too. Research ahead of time and make reservations as the best places fill up quickly. Truly a stunning choice to stay! BRAVO!"

"Great locarion to explore Stassi, helpful staff, ability to have breakfast in room (not in the main dining area) is a plus. Cave room was great, if you're tall, watch your head. Room was spacious, the bed wooden frame was creaky, with small movements. The worst part was the bottle and garbage collection at 5:30-6 am, every day. Right outside our room, very loud. And unexpected."

The night manager appeared more concerned about the impact on the next booking rather than our comfort & we had no alternative but to leave in the morning without showering…."
