Parking is outside the historic area. Great service and breakfast. Very easy to get everywhere from there. The view from the front room was great and huge but a little bit noisy. I would recommend the hotel to friends and family.

We received a very warm welcome and the service throughout was fantastic. The room was cozy, clean and special. The breakfast was great. I enjoyed the thoughtfulness of the locally sourced ingredients. Overall Matera is a magical place to visit and Fra i Sassi was a special place to spend the night.

Location was amazing with some of the best views of Matera. One can just enjoy from the comfort of the room in the private balcony or with just windows open. While we had to carry the luggage down to the property, proper research would have suggested the public transport that we could have been used to minimize the hassle. Breakfast here was excellent with so many choices, including some fresh food. Their offer to store luggage after checkout is a good option to avail.

Two days of heaven in Matera

This is an amazing place to stay, with an amazing view of the ancient city and an amazing staff to attend to your every need. Having the morning meal in their breakfast room gives you a taste of what its like to live in a cave (well, a well-appointed cave). I highly recommend staying here!
