Great property in an outstanding location near an entrance to the Matera Sassi. Clean rooms and comfortable beds were nice to stay in.
In addition to the Sassi access and hotel cleanliness, the breakfast was truly outstanding. It featured a variety of coffees, pastries and fruits along with other breakfast items in an attractive, large dining room.
The desk is attended at all times and the building is secured at night.
My only mild criticism is better information on parking prior to check in would be a plus. A secured garage is under the hotel and available for $20 Euro per might.
I'd stay there again, both for the hotel and the ancient attractions of Matera.

This is an amazing choice to stay in historic Sasso!
The location is spectacular! The views are stunning! There is beauty at every angle. You will wear out your camera.
No wonder it's been used as a film location for multitudes of movies.
Call ahead and arrange for parking because the hotel is in a no parking/driving location. You will understand when you arrive. The spectacular hotel staff will provide a shuttle service for you and your luggage.
The amazing and friendly staff will assist you with anything you need. I can't say enough of how helpful and incredible the staff is! Definitely stay 2 days or more if you want to hike at the caves. The breakfast is also spectacular!
There is amazing food in town too. Research ahead of time and make reservations as the best places fill up quickly.
Truly a stunning choice to stay!
