Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Gankewala?
The best area to stay in Gankewala is along the main road that runs through the centre of the town, particularly around the Gankewala Junction.

This central stretch of road is where you'll find the majority of the town's amenities and services. It's relatively compact, making it easy to navigate on foot to local eateries, small shops, and the bus station. The area is also well-connected to the surrounding region, which is convenient for exploring the nearby tea plantations and natural attractions.

For couples looking for a relaxing and convenient base, staying near Gankewala Junction is ideal. Many guesthouses and smaller hotels are located here, offering easy access to local dining options and transport links for day trips. You'll find it simple to arrange excursions to places like the Gankewala Tea Factory or the nearby waterfalls from this central spot.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the practicality of staying in this central area. The proximity to transport makes independent exploration straightforward, and the presence of various local businesses means you're never far from what you need.
When is the best time to go to Gankewala?
The best time to visit Gankewala is during the dry season, which typically runs from May to September.

During these months, you'll experience consistently warm, sunny weather with minimal rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty and outdoor activities. The dry conditions are superb for hiking to attractions like the Gankewala Falls or enjoying the tea plantations without the interruption of heavy showers. This period is also excellent for wildlife spotting, as animals are more active and visible.

For those planning a relaxing holiday with plenty of time by the pool or enjoying scenic views, May to September offers the most reliable weather.
