Very pleasant stay st Flannerys

Posted 22-Oct-2017
We had a very pleasant stay at Flsnnerys in Galway .The staff were very friendly and helpful . The hotel is about 2 km from the city Centre but the bus stops outside the hotel and for €2 20 you will be in the square in 10 mins so no parking worries in town overall a great experience and compeditivily priced

Convenient and cosy

Posted 17-Oct-2017
Pros: The atmosphere.
Cons: Needed an iron and ironing board. There was only one tissue in the box.
Location: Close to Galway town and bus stops. Staff know the area well to advise re touristy things.
A pleasant one night stay here. Check-in was a little fraught but my room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Bathroom modern and clean with all amenities and plenty of towels. Bed was a little too hard for my taste. Needed to iron something but no iron or ironing board. There was a hairdryer. Breakfast was from 7-11am, very nice dining room, staff were helpful and professional. Plenty of choice from the buffet, hot items had to be ordered separately. There appeared to be a £5 charge for a cooked breakfast but I'd been told at check-in that it was included in the price of the room. No complaints, would stay here again.

Start we're friendly and helpful. Room was spacious. Meal and breakfasts were good. Just a short drive to Galway centre.

Disappointing

Posted 23-Sep-2017
Pros: Staff were nice. Good location.
Cons: Comfortable mattresses and quality pillows. Functioning appliances. Better food served with pride.
Location: Plenty...Cliffs of Moher. Basilica of Our Lady of Knock. Connemara. Burren...
Sad bed and bedding.Broken hairdryer, bin. Dysfunctional shower head. Mediocre food. Too bad. Nice location, attractive hotel. But, cheaply outfitted. Overhaul poor experience.

old hotel out of the way

Posted 23-Sep-2017
The hotel is quite outdated, the beds were very uncomfortable. About an 8-10 minute car ride to any areas you would want to go out in. You could see into the room next to ours from our window which I thought was strange.

First time in Galway

Posted 22-Sep-2017
Pros: A manager belatedly realised our lack of food service at dinner, apologised & offered desserts on the house.
Cons: Management of the food service
Location: Galway centre is a lively one but you need to access it by cab or bus.
The hotel itself is fine but not within easy walking distance of Galway centre. It was very busy on the night of our stay with one large tour group. Reception staff were a little brusque. The real problem came at dinner. Service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being half empty. The bar which also served food was full & overpowered the kitchen's capacity. The problem recurred at breakfast.

Pros: Not in town centre and interesting coast line
Location: Walks and a garrison church. Small cafe
Convenient hotel, near to walks, small cafes and post office. Relaxed stay here
