Generally a nice place to to stay. The evening meal was excellent, but unfortunately that was not the same for breakfast, most definitely the "worst" full english breakfast i have ever had, dont know how they had the audacity to serve it up!!!
Will not be returning.

Stayed here for one night in Room 5 (I think)
As I was driving back from a festival in Dorset, I kept in touch with the hotel staff about my arrival and all was fine when I arrived about 7pm. There’s no private parking. Street parking only, but at least it was right in front of the house and free. The owner showed me around the B&B, the bedroom and the separate shared bathroom. The guest house has a cosy homely feel, is clean and comfortable throughout. I had also asked for breakfast, so the...

The staff service was exceptional at this hotel, the friendly and attentiveness of the employees really made this a wonderful break away. The room was ideal in a pet friendly room it was not luxurious but adequate and suited our visit. The food was wonderful and we felt treated from arriving to departure. I would recommend this hotel it can not be faltering delivery.

It was faultless. Warm and clean and everything you need for a stay as close as you can get to Alton Towers. Space to park and leave your car. 2-3 minutes walk to the turnstiles at Alton towers. Highly recommend the place.

Great hotel close to the hall if you’re staying for an event. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Nice touch being allowed late check out as no one else was booked in the room that day. Would stay again

It was very fantastic, I have known kevin since i started my shifts in stoke-on-trent. Very Gentlemen and warm as always. the room is very clean and very large as I didn't expect it. (the room I reserved) room was so warm and bed is new, I should say all is new from floor to ceiling. I am definitely giving them 10/10 for my stay. and will be booking for more after my first stay. _-S.Usman

The best area to stay in Froghall is directly in the village itself, particularly around the Froghall Wharf area, for convenient access to its main attractions.
Froghall village is a small, quiet community known for its historical connection to the Churnet Valley Railway and the Caldon Canal. The Wharf is the central point, where you'll find the railway station, canal basin, and the starting point for boat trips. It's a picturesque spot, great for those who appreciate tranquil scenery and industrial heritage.
For couples looking for a peaceful retreat, staying in Froghall village offers a relaxed pace. You can enjoy walks along the canal towpath, take a steam train journey through the Churnet Valley, or simply unwind by the water. There are a few local pubs nearby for a traditional British experience.
Families will also find Froghall appealing due to the activities. The steam railway provides an exciting outing for children, and the canal offers opportunities for boat trips or simply watching the narrowboats go by.
When is the best time to go to Froghall?
Froghall is lovely to visit throughout the year, but the best time to go depends on what you're hoping to experience.
For warm weather and outdoor activities, the summer months from June to August are ideal. You'll find the Staffordshire countryside at its most verdant, great for walking, cycling, or enjoying boat trips on the Caldon Canal. The longer daylight hours mean more time to explore the local area and its attractions.
If you prefer cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and the beauty of autumn colours, then September and October are splendid. It's a great time for photography and enjoying the peaceful rural setting before winter sets in.
