Interesting small hotel in Freiburg. Our room had a view of the Cathedral. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and the included breakfast was wonderful. If driving the route shown on the hotel provided parking map is accurate, just stop at the hotel entrance and ask them to open the small parking garage door.

The hotel is situated just by the Munster in the old town and couldn’t be better placed. The hotel is beautiful and very old but well maintained. It has so much character. There was fresh fruit in the room on arrival. The staff were very cheerful and helpful and a total pleasure. The breakfast in the attached restaurant was superb. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to visit it again.

Lovely stay with view onto the cathedral . Really tasty breakfast . The two hotel gentlemen could not have been more kind and helpful with late booking in advice ,dealing with IT issues and the thoughtful extra provision of tea ! We would definitely return to this hotel .

Very clean, nicely decorated room that was comfortable. The room wasn’t ready as we arrived early. We left our bags and went out exploring, upon return the room was ready and our bags were already moved into the room.

This was the first of two stays there in the Spring of 2025. Lovely old building right in the middle of the Altstadt of Freiburg. Nice room and excellent breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked it so much we returned for a second stay a week or so later.

The hotel is very nice with a good restaurant centrally located in the pedestrian area. Arrival by car is challenging and one needs to follow their directions exactly to get through the pedestrian areas safely. In particular, the well-known channels in the street which contain water are treacherous for cars. be sure you understand their directions and don’t count on Google maps to reach the hotel intact.

This was such a cute and charming hotel stay and that it overlooks the market square and is steps away from the Cathedral is a bonus! We had a wonderful time, the staff were so helpful. We will certainly stay there again and recommend it to others!

We love this hotel. Stated there twice during a trip through the Black Forest. Staff could not be nicer, and the second stay was in an upgraded suite where I’d be happy living. You also couldn’t ask for a better location in Freiburg.

Every morning on the plaza is a delightful market, going all around the Munster. Couldn't have chosen a better location. Since we arrived on a slow Wednesday, we were upgraded to a suite !! Staff is charming and helpful. Nice breakfast

The best surprise ever! Clean, quaint, incredibly German in the best ways possible. Get a room with the church square view if you can. Close to shopping and restaurants and coffee shops. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

Great old hotel in heart of Altstadt

A comfortable and friendly place right next to Marktplatz in Freiburg Altstadt. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The neighbourhood was quiet at night, but there was a fair bit of noise from about 7 am as shopkeepers started to set up market stalls. The area was a delight to walk through, and it was also wonderful to see how many people arrived and departed on the frequent trams that travelled along the narrow streets.

It’s a little tricky to arrive with luggage. We called an Uber from train station and he did not know how to get to the hotel so I would definitely just hail a taxi. That being said do not let that stop you from staying here!! It was so worth it. You are really in the heart of everything. Staff was AMAZING! We ended up rolling our luggage to the hotel restaurant and asked the waitress about checking in and within minutes someone with the hotel staff had all our info on his tablet and told us to follow him! He helped with luggage and took us to the most charming room! Very organized! They were also great with coordinating taxis for us so checking out with luggage was no issue. Taxi met us at the front door! Loved loved the hotel!!

The hotel is in a great location and the beds were comfortable. It was very quiet which we appreciated. The breakfast was very nice though we had to ask about the eggs and bacon, they didn't offer it. The staff was not very helpful though sufficiently polite. The hotel is in a very old building and needs an update. Shabby carpets and walls that need painting. I gave this hotel a 2 rating because it smells strongly of mold, mildew and dampness. We had to open the windows immediately upon entering. The reception area had closed by the time we arrived so no chance to speak to anybody about this. I mentioned it to the woman at the reception area in the morning, but she apparently didn't understand me. I would not have booked this hotel had I known about the smell.

We stayed in the Queens suite. Comfortable room and bed but facilities dated. Breakfast was excellent but found restaurant food average. During our stay we were informed that our room would not be serviced and that if we wanted extra towels, water etc to come to reception. That’s fine but it would have been nice to be informed about this before our stay as I thought we had booked a hotel not a bnb. Area surrounding us made access to the Christmas markets and old town easy. We were able to walk to the station but it was physically challenging with luggage. Overall a pleasant stay.
