We’ve furnished this attic apartment with deep care and a keen eye for thoughtful details, so you’ll feel at home and comfortable from the very first moment.
The Philosophy & History This house was built in 1957 by an architect as his private winter holiday home. We have made a conscious effort to preserve as much of the existing structure as possible and to honour it in the spirit of wabi-sabi (the appreciation of the imperfect, natural, and authentic). We use resources sparingly instead of throwing everything away. A place for people who seek authenticity.

Cosy Warmth & Our Authentic Heating Concept Important to know: Our house retains its original character and does not have traditional central heating. But you’ll still find it wonderfully warm and cosy here! Anyone who loves the luxury of “wood-burning” will feel right at home. The centrepiece for cosy evenings is the wood-burning stove in the living room (we provide unlimited firewood—you just have to light it!). It’s the main source of heat and, with the doors to the other rooms open, creates an incredibly pleasant indoor climate throughout the entire apartment. There are also modern, sustainable alternatives:
In the bathroom, a smart ceramic heating system provides genuine, comforting warmth.
A portable infrared heater is available in the bedroom.
For the kitchen or living room, there’s a slim, portable infrared tower available if needed, which you can place exactly where you want the heat.

Sleeping & Relaxing (For 2–3 people) The bedroom:
Very spacious, with a double bed (two single beds pushed together)—ideal for couples or friends. There’s even enough space on the floor in front of the bed for yoga (even for two!). There’s also a cosy sofa area here where you can retreat and read.
There’s no street lighting, so you’ll enjoy naturally dark nights—with only the stars and moon to light your way.

The living room:
Here you’ll find a cosy daybed that serves as an additional reading nook or a comfortable sleeping spot for a third person.

Kitchen, living area & inspiring workspace:
The cheerfully designed kitchen is fully equipped (including a Nespresso capsule machine) and features its own cosy dining area. You can enjoy your meals right there—or at the beautiful table in the living room.
This spot in the living area, directly beneath the bright south-facing skylight and right next to the fireplace, can't only be used as a second dining area but is also perfect as an inspiring, cosy workspace for creative projects or as a home office with a view of the forest.

Bathroom with a view of the forest:
In the newly renovated bathroom, we’ve kept the original bathtub. When you’re lying in the tub, you look directly up at the coniferous treetops and the sky—pure relaxation.

SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL:
In addition to your own private attic apartment (approx. 60 square metres), there are also some very special spaces in and around the house available to you:

The Creative Studio (Veranda): During the summer months, our veranda is available to you as a studio. It’s equipped with an easel, painting supplies, and a sofa for writing. For a small flat fee, you can use the basic materials; we provide canvases at cost. In winter, there’s an alternative.

The South-Facing Balcony with a View:
A beautiful, approximately 9-square-meter balcony on the ground floor, accessible from the studio, is also available to you—perfect for enjoying the gorgeous evening sun with a sweeping view.

Our WALDLÄDLE:
On the ground floor of the apartment is our small shop featuring regional products, arts and crafts, and gift items. It’s a shop with no set hours—open only by request—so it’s quiet, with limited foot traffic in the building.

You’ll be staying in our Waldhaus, where your “Goldregen” accommodation is located—an exclusive space where you’ll enjoy privacy and room that extends beyond your apartment.

We (Thomas Mariam and Teresa-Maria) live nearby and are always happy to help with any questions, suggestions for outings, or requests. At the same time, we fully respect your need for peace and privacy. You alone decide how much contact you’d like during your getaway!

Here’s some practical information for your stay:

Parking & absolute peace and quiet:
You have a secure parking spot right in front of the house. Since we’re located at the end of a cul-de-sac (no through traffic!), you’ll enjoy absolute silence here “at the end of the world.”

Digital Detox: 
Wi-Fi is available, but can be completely deactivated at your request for total radio silence.

Flexibility with final cleaning:
Want to leave feeling completely relaxed? Then we’ll take care of the final cleaning (using eco-friendly cleaning products) for the standard fee. If you’d rather give the place a quick once-over yourself, you can clean the apartment with our eco-friendly cleaning products and leave it swept clean.
Just let us know, and we’ll refund the cleaning fee—it’s that simple!
