Amazed

Posted 29-Mar-2017
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Mattress, but then again I'm spoiled at home.
Location: Breathtaking scenery and water related things (my thing) .
Due to the good deal I found the expectation was very low, but upon arrival I soon was overwhelmed in awe. Amazing place and the staff was beyond nice and helpful!

Stay in annex building

Posted 23-Mar-2017
Pros: The hotel atmosphere was very relaxed, slow pace, with no crazy college drunk kids!
Cons: It was very dusty under the bed.
Location: It was a good mid-point location for those who travel from Miami to Key West.
The annex was across from the main hotel building about 100 yards away. First, I wasn't thrilled because we had to cross the street to get to the main office, beach and restaurant. But it turned out nice because we enjoyed the spacious (with 2 televisions!), private atmosphere and a hammock in the balcony!

Off site location not as described by pictures.

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Cons: Everything, the units in this four-pled should not be given to guests until renovated.
We were excited to stay at this hotel as it looked beautiful and on the beach. My reservation said off-site location and I've had this before and it was not a problem. However, in this case, the room was totally different from the description on web site. No pictures of the room we had are on Lime Tree's web site or on Expedia. We didn't have a beach but were on a smelly channel. Our "suite" was in an old four-plex down the road about 1/2 a mile and across a busy highway. We were disappointed, but as we were going out for the evening and our reservation was only for a night, we would make do. However, during the night we kept being awakened by the family upstairs as the floors in the unit above were not insulated and were not carpeted. Everything in our unit was linoleum so I assume the upstairs unit had the same thing. The final straw was that I kept sneezing, I couldn't figure out what was going on. I looked in the bathroom in the morning and found the fan unit in the bathroom was totally encased in dust and mold from who knows how long. Called Expedia and they were on hold For 45 minutes and were told by front desk person that they were helping other guests. When I went there she had just gotten on phone with Expedia and said Expedia was lying to me as they just called for 1st time just before I walked in. She said she could do nothing for me but would have the manager call me. He never did.

Off-site from resort

Posted 21-Mar-2017
I probably would have enjoyed our stay more if we were on-site to enjoy the amenities. We had to drive over to the main resort in order to use the pool, restaurant, and go to the beach. I would not have booked this location if I had known in advance that "canal view" meant I was going to be off-site. We did have a nice large suite with a small kitchen and living area. We also had a hammock, which was fun. However, a pet must have been in the room because my boyfriend's allergies started acting up when he laid in the bed.

Great view, but terribly noisy and to expensive

Posted 19-Mar-2017
The view is great and we had a pretty room for our 300 USD per night. But we slept nearly on the highway and in the room you could hear every single car. Furthermore no one cared about rubbish laying in the private bay. The breakfast was really small. All in all way to expensive, a "Resort" without love.

Good mid-keys location.

good location to go elsewhere. no real swimming beach at the resort. a bit windy the days we were there limiting other bay activities - obviously not in the resort's control. Adequate daily continental breakfast. Nice state park in walking / bicycling distance - again not really good for swimming, but nice trail and mangrove swamp. Staff is good and attentive.

Great find!

Perfect place. Size, location and amenities are great. Love the free rentals of bikes, kayaks and paddle boards. We will definitely come back.
