San Miniato -- Apt is an independent unit, second floor, 2 double bedrooms, 2 baths". Spacious Apartment located in an ancient building at very few steps from the Dome, elevator equipped (very rare in historical center). It is suited with a new ultrafast WiFi; independent heating system and Air Conditioning; fully equipped with security appliances: monoxide methan and smoke detector, fire extinguisher, emergency lights, security access door. The apartment is located in Via dei Servi, one of the most characteristic and suggestive streets of Florence, between Piazza Duomo and Piazza S.S. Annunziata, two of the most beautiful squares in Florence. It is located at the beginning of the street a few steps from the Cathedral, in the pedestrian area that surrounds the Duomo and the innermost historical core of the city. The main points of artistic interest are very close to Via dei Servi and can be reached on foot in a few minutes, as is the railway station. The apartment is on the second floor of the Casa dè Biffi; it has 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and can accommodate up to 6 people. The surface is 84 square meters and the ceiling, 4 meters high, is in original wooden beams of the time. Four large windows overlook Via dei Servi, offering an impressive view of Brunelleschi's Dome. The furniture is classic and modern, many elements are authentic pieces of Italian and international design: such as the walnut furnishings of the Master Bedroom, a modern reinterpretation of the classic Tuscan style created by the famous Italian architect Michelucci. The walls are decorated with English prints and oil paintings. In particular, there are two large canvases depicting San Miniato, a small medieval town between Florence and Pisa, of which the family of the property originates: hence the name of the apartment. The second floor, which corresponds to the third in the American classification, is easily accessible by an elevator which is very useful both for people and for carrying suitcases. The Palazzo dates back to the Renaissance period and has been renovated in recent years, preserving the original elements of the ancient Florentine houses of the Renaissance. The Bargellini-Guarnieri Catalog describes the Palazzo as simple but provided with 'delicate frames' on the facade. It was built on older houses belonging to the Tedaldi family, and in the mid-16th century it belonged to the Florentine Biffi family, hence its name 'Casa dè Biffi'. Later the palace was owned by the Pagani family. On the second floor level the facade is decorated with a family crest, probably coming from the Pagani family. The San Miniato Apartment is available from March 2013\. OWNER'S STORY Eleonora and Fiorenzo, the owners, lived for many years in this property, and now they live near Florence a few kilometers from the city. In 2012 they decided to offer others the opportunity to share, albeit for short periods. of time, the extraordinary experience of living in the monumental center of Florence a few steps from the Duomo. The exclusive position is immediately striking. Furthermore, the spaciousness of the spaces and rooms, and a renovation that is particularly faithful to the historical characteristics of the building, allow you to live in these environments with all the functionality and comforts of modern life together with the charm of ancient times that these places have preserved. . We never needed the dryer.Host Eleanora was very thorough during check in and her attention to showing us how everything worked (and a clear instruction book) was really, really helpful. It is perfect for anyone wanting to "live" right in the center of historic Florence instead of being in a hotel. Eleanora, the owner, is a fabulous and generous hostess. Grocery, cafes, pharmacy, and great shopping is nearby and everything is in walking distance. For those with mobility issues (like me), there is an elevator! We stayed in the winter when tourist traffic (and street noise) is at a minimum. Highly recommend! ##### Linda S. Because of the location, there is some noise issues that you must be able to except. But the apartment was clean, equipped and comfortable. The only issue was that the beds need to be upgraded as they were not as comfortable as one hopes when traveling. ##### Rick C. The apartment was meticulously clean and organized. It included all amenities we needed, ample towels, and toiletries. Check in was fabulous, and the restaurants suggested were delish! We LOVED this apartment. Clean, comfortable, spacious and gorgeous. The a/c worked perfectly and there was plenty of hot water. The location is PERFECT - convenient for getting around the city and to the train station. Elevator worked great. The gist is responsive and so helpful! The location really can't be beat. The only downside to being in the city center is the loud nightlife. One of the bedrooms faces the street so it never really quieted down in there, but we had noise makers and earplugs which helped immensely. The other bedroom is very quiet during the day and after 11pm or so when the restaurant below closes. The apartment came equipped with everything we needed. The host, Eleanora, was so thorough during check in which was incredibly helpful and meant we didnt have any issues during our stay. It was centrally located near the Duomo. It was great hearing the church bells ring on the hour. The property was close to great shopping and restaurants. It was well maintained. Couldn’t believe the building was approximately 500 years old. The owner was very nice and accommodating. She made sure we knew most everything about the property. Just one hint: the lighting in the kitchen does not sufficient. We discovered that there was more light in the kitchen under the cabinets. We would not hesitate to stay there again. ##### Mark S. You are right in the middle of it all. Everything is walking distance; museums, restaurants, attractions, etc. The apartment was great, clean, and spacious. The kitchen was a bit small, so there were times we had dinner at the living room. There are two bedrooms. The one in the back was very quiet, according to the other couple that stayed with me and my wife. The room we stayed in was a bit noisy. One can hear the outside noise. It wasn’t really loud, but loud enough that we could hear it during the night. Luckily I brought with me ear plugs. That solved that problem. Overall I highly recommend staying here. My husband and I rented this apartment with another couple. It is absolutely perfect for two couples!!! There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There's a large living room/dining area. And the kitchen is fully equipped. We could not have been happier. We rented the apartment for two weeks and its central location made it possible to see many of Florence's highlights on foot. There were many great restaurants within walking distance as well. The owner, Eleonora, responded promptly to our needs which were few because the rental was managed so professionally, and the property is so well equipped. We would highly recommend renting this apartment if you want to be right in the middle of Florence with access to all of its wonders within walking distance. This immaculate, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable apartment was a delight to occupy during our four day stay in Florence. The owner, Eleonora, met us at the apartment to show us the ropes, and she was very patient and flexible with our arrival time. The apartment is steps from the Duomo, and provided easy walking access to all the glories of Florence. Eleonora was very accommodating, even to go so far as to arrange a very early morning taxi to drive us to the airport on the day of our departure. My only “heads up” is to be sure to bring your own shampoo and body wash. Otherwise, the kitchen was well equipped and had many basic ingredients needed for cooking. We could not have been happier with this gorgeous apartment!!! ##### Lynne D.
