La posizione non è granché, il centro si raggiunge con una passeggiata di 15 minuti ma la notte La zona è silenziosa. The problem is that now we live in 2018 and this hotel is still sub-standard. So the "hotel" is located between the 3rd and 5th floors in the building. Luckily the lift works. Hardly anything else does. The reception area including the bar is something out of the 60's dolce vita, i.e. badly needs a refurb. Wait till you see your room! No TV or minibar/fridge, but the biggest joke is the bathroom (see the picture), obviously walled off the original room offering you about a 1x2m bathroom space, i.e. basin, bidet, toilet and "shower-above-toilet" all crammed in there. The whole thing makes you think you are in some youth correctional facility on Soviet territory in the 60's. If you want breakfast? 8 euros. If you want air-con? 5 euros/night. Mille grazie! Being on the top floor in July and having no window, the only other option we had was to leave the shutter and the balcony door open at night. All mosquitos are welcome! The next problem? It's one big balcony accessible by all other rooms. Meaning, any loud-mouthed drunkard could have walked in at night. I slept with a knife close to my reach. Son troppo stufo di prenotare alberghi come questo. Per sentirsi scrivere dal proprietario che ci sono altre strutture 3/4 stelle, che loro sono un 2 stelle datato. Questo hotel è sporco, ma zozzo è dir poco. Il bagno non è usabile, una puzza di scarichi da non poterci entrare. Formiche in camera, muri sporchi, copriletti macchiati coperti con il cambio di asciugamani. This hotel is situated in an apartment building, with the 3rd floor and up being the hotel. In the bathroom, there was a door with a turn lock. The outside of the door was a hallway. Anyone with a butter knife or key could open the door and get into the bathroom, and then my room. I didn't feel secure. The room was rather filthy, the dresser felt like it would fall apart and fall down at any minute, and there was no air conditioning. On my last day, I saw that they charged 5 Euro a night for air conditioning - that's like charging for a pillow. The staff was friendly, but it didn't make up for the poor conditions of the hotel. The free WiFi was the only highlight of my stay. Every person working the front desk was very pleasant. The breakfast was buffet-style and had a lot more options than some of the other hotels we've stayed at (including hard boiled eggs and a variety of fruit and yogurt). The coffee/cappuccino machine was a bonus! The location was perfect- just down the street from the Duomo, which made getting back each night very easy. Although an old building, the room was comfortable and clean and there was enough space for two. The only issue was Mosquitos in the room. We opened the balcony doors only once during our three-night stay, when we first arrived. There were constantly Mosquitos flying around the room and although we kept killing them, they never went away. There were marks on the wall where past guests had killed the bugs. The rooms are not too private since your neighbors can hear and you can hear what they say. It is an overall a good stay. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. The room we got was tiny, almost made me clausterphobic. The bathroom was disgusting, sewer smell and the toilet within the "shower" space. The walls are paper thin and the hotel was full of students for the fall semester from WA. Loud students, slamming of doors well past a decent hour. The location is great, in a walking distance to old Florence. Rooms are clean. And if you are looking for a budget hotel, this is a gerat hotel, considering the prices in Florence. Airconditing costs additional 5 euros a day. breakfast is very basic, so it is OK. Easy walk to see fabulous architecture. The service was good and the breakfast too. The hotel is old and a rundown. Be aware although there is a lift, you still have stairs so pack lightly! It was brilliant for me as I basically only slept there and straight after breakfast I was out exploring. Notre chambre était infesté de FOURMIS. L'hôtel fournit un dispositif anti-moustique à cet effet donc ils sont au courant du problème mais ne le règle pas définitivement. La salle de bain est extrêmement petite et la toilette est littéralement dans la douche ce qui est totalement ridicule. Les murs de la chambre était sales avec des coulisses un peu partout. Le pire était que l'air climatisé n'est PAS COMPRISE. Comme nous y avons séjourné au mois de juillet et que la température frôlait les 40C il était impossible de s'en passer. Nous avons donc dû payer un supplément par jour pour y avoir droit et en plus la femme de chambre l'éteignait à tous les jours en faisant le ménage. Donc finalement on paye pour rien étant donné qu'à chaque soir lorsqu'on rentrait à l'hôtel il faisait atrocement chaud dans la chambre. De plus, le déjeuner n'est pas bon du tout. L'emplacement de l'hôtel n'est pas si mal mais on doit quand même marcher un bon 15 minutes pour se rendre au centre-ville.
