We enjoyed the layout of the lodge as well as the private courtyard at the back of the property. The location was great for the sites we were visiting during our stay. We appreciated that the host stopped out when we had a few questions. The cons of the lodge were that there is a fairly busy road(during the day) at the front of the lodge that runs through town with some larger trucks during the day. The access drive to the parking at the back of the lodge was crazy narrow and difficult to turn into, even by UK narrow standards. We experienced some issues with the washer/dryer combo at the lodge and did only receive the response from the host to check the manual, however there wasn't a manual for the appliance and we could not find it online as the model number wasn't readily shown. We had counted on doing laundry for clean clothes for the duration of our vacation so this was pretty disappointing. The wifi was not great and the directions appeared to not provide all of the information to improve it. Having never visited Scotland, we were not familiar with some of the other appliances at the lodge and although the listing states to see the manuals at the lodge for assistance, there were few manuals there. We did not contact the host again as the response prior to that had repeatedly been to see the manual or look it up online.
