"Older property but safe, secluded with a beautiful view of Portage Bay and mountains. Rooms have a patio, but no televisions or clocks. Shower floor was slippery. One dining room and separate lounge area with fireplace. Because of major storm damage a few years ago, we were not able to drive to property, instead we needed to take a water taxi from Picton."

"Situated overlooking Portage and 270deg views. Had a perfectly relaxing weekend with kayaking and walking and plenty of spa time. You don't have the house to yourself which we didn't realise when we booked it. However, you don't see the owners and your little self contained room is accessible without disturbing them."

"The place is remote and fabulous with a steep gravel driveway and set far above the road for noiseless nights of stargazing. It requires a little bit of off grid savvy but nothing even this 60 year old New Yorker couldn’t learn in seconds. The view is absolutely stunning, the house is quite comfortable. Old world beach bach by the seaside

"A beautiful family beach holiday crib right by the seashore. Lawns for cricket in the evenings; mud flats to explore at low tide; a wee beach or two to wander along; log fire for chilly autumn mornings and those long holiday evenings sitting round playing board games and cards together. We couldn’t have dreamed of anything better than what we had the privilege of enjoying here thank you to the hosts who share their slice of paradise"

Very comfortable beds, spotless, shower, washing machine, beautiful, wounding, deck, Thoughtful touches as well, kitchen with small walkin pantry was clean and well-equipped. Surrounded by lush, native bush, and expensive view of the sounds with swimming just down the road at the beach, hiking in either direction up and down the road, this place was a real winner. Communicating with Beth was fast easy and informative, I really love this place."

Fine but a bit disappointing for the price

"The view and location was amazing and the house was generally clean and comfortable with some dusty bits and some cobwebs. But the place is a bit tatty and run down. It definitely needs an update or a price change. The kitchen needs more equipment, wooden spoons, oven dishes and some decent knives. The upstairs bathroom door doesn't stay closed. The screen doors on the balcony are broken. There was a trampoline which my son was excited to use but the net is badly broken so not safe to use...disappointing for him. The kayaks were great. But the path down to the beach is really steep and loose so not suitable for elderly people or those with any mobility challenges. We had a nice time but the house was not as flash as the photos suggest."
